Married ladies: I need honest answers about guest list

Has any one had every one on there guest list show?

I remember reading some where about 10% doesn't show

I'm freaking out my guest list is over what I wanted by 10% ........

Re: Married ladies: I need honest answers about guest list

  • I thought on average it was 20% and we had almost exactly 20% RSVP no. Most of them were out of towners though, I'm not sure what your list is in terms of local vs out of town.

With THAT said, if your guest list is higher than what you want, I would think twice about the guest list. You should be excited when RSVPs come in, not disappointed because you're hoping people can't make it! Maybe send out invites to the MUSTS (and 90% of your guest list) 2.5/3 months out, and then as people say no, you can mail invites to that 10%.

OR don't invite people with guests right away, until you figure out how many people can make it.

My guest list is final. I can't take anyone off at this point an def can't add anyone. What's making my list bigger than anticipated is the so's to our guests. I've already taken away plus ones for those not in a relationship. Not sure what more I can do.
  • I'm not married yet but will be in early November which means I have my guest list complete. We expected most of our of town guests to decline to attend because our wedding is on a Friday. All but one out of town couple are attending the wedding. From our local guests list only 11 guests will not attend. We have no more than 110 guests attending. We have limited plus ones but what does add to our list are some of our younger guests which are about 12 of them. Not sure when your wedding is or how soon you will be sending your invited out but keep in mind some people may say thy will attend and at the last minute can't. Also, are you having kids at your wedding?
