  • we're using dey photography.  he's out of seymour, ct.

I can't remember exactly what we're gettng but its a good amount of stuff and its about $2,300 including engagement session.  The guy is an older gentlemen that works from his house.  He's super nice.

Personally the money that we could spend on a videographer could be better spent somewhere else.  I don't need a video for the entire event just the wedding so we're having a friend do it for us.
  • Check out DB Photo in RI. I am using two of their photographers for my wedding for 8 hours, including an engagement session for under $2,000.

  • We got both. At first, I only got a photographer, and thought that would be enough. But then I saw my parent's video- it had video of my recently deceased grandparents dancing. I realized I needed a video at that point.

For photography, we're using Studio1923 (clicky). I highly highly recommend Jerome, he's fantastic to work with, but he might be out of your price range.

For videographer, we're using RI Video Pro (clicky) who will travel to RI, MA or CT (they're actually based in CT). I like this company because they offer an unedited version of the full video, which is a very cheap option if you're not sure about having a videographer.

Good luck! 2,000 is a pretty low budget for our area for photography I think, but it is possible.
  • My feelings on photography vs. videography are this: photos you can put out all over your house, give as gifts, and look at everyday. How often do you pull out the video and watch it? Once a year? With a $2,000 budget you can afford a talented photographer and have quality photos to remember forever. I always fear when you streach your budget too thin, you lose out on the quality you will wish you had later.

I would suggest Eric Brushett (www.ericbrushett.com). He has a package for $2,000 that include the rights to the images for no additional cost! Plus his photos are awesome.

Regardless of your decision, good luck!!
  • I'm using Michael Dzienis and he is extremelly resoable and absolutely within your budget including an engagement session. I'm not sure if he would charge a travel fee seeing he is out of Stratford, CT. But check him out http://www.michaeldzienisphotography.com/
  • I second Eric Brushett, he is very budget friendly and has an awesome style!
