Does anyone know what is typical for paying the officiant? we are not religious and so no pastor for us.

Anyone have any suggestions on nice officants you have seen or know of?

    We worked with Pastor Eastman from MarriageChaplain.com to be matched with an officiant. He works with 12 other officiants (religious and nonreligious) and will match you and your FI with someone after a brief meeting (we did ours over the phone). Similar to you and your FI, we do not want a religious ceremony. Pastor Eastman was very respectful of this and set us up with an officiant that fits our personalities. Their prices start at $150 and go up depending on what kind of ceremony you want. Hope this helps!

    We're using Kathryn Seifert at Brides of Cincinnati.  You can read her reviews on WeddingChannel.com.  She's great, her prices are reasonable, and she doesn't nickle and dime you to death.  She's a good $200 less than some of the officiants we contacted and her price includes just about everything you could imagine.  And she's very nice and very funny: icing on the (wedding) cake!

    We used Bill Proud and we really liked him.  I think we paid around $300 or so, but I can't remember exactly.

    We're ujsing Kathryn Siefert too.  Besides being a funny, graciousy lady, she's very up front w/ her fees.  She spells it all out, doesn't require a deposit, and has no hidden costs.
