Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Norfolk area Venue Help

 Hi-

So my fiance and I live in Northern VA and want to go look at some sites in the VA Beach/Hampton Roads/Norfolk area.
We have about 200 people and are fine with the ceremony inside or out but DEF want the reception inside.
We also agreed no 'conference rooms' (aka most hotels are out..) and something thats a little different/interesting would be awesome since he's an architect and would love that :)


Any suggestions would be great!!

    Yay!  I'm an Architect too (well almost :-))
     
    One architecturally pleasing site is the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, VA.  They also have a waterfall on the inside which is great for taking pictures.  They work with the Embassy Suites that is right beside it.

    You both might like the Contemporary Art Center of VA in Va Beach. cacv.org  They've got some really interesting art outside to take pictures by (HUGE pieces). You can see some photos on my blob.

    our reception is on the spirit of norfolk. they do ceremonies, too, on their top deck. it's gorgeous!! plus, the price of the reception includes food, cash bar, dj, set up and clean up! it's like an all-in-one and makes my life easier :)
