Black Hawk State Park Lodge

I love love LOVE the look of this lodge.  Has anyone gotten married there or planning to get married there?

Here is my question:  Since you are able to bring your own food and pick your own caterer, does this also mean that you need to provide bar staff?  All the weddings I've been to have been at places that already have a bar and/or caterer, so I've never had any experience with this.

Thanks!

Hi! Nice to see some life on this board :O)

My understand for BH Lodge is that you have to also provide a licensed bartender to serve any alcohol.

I'm getting married there on Sept 16th! Yes, you do have to provide the alcohol. However, you don't necessarly need a bartender. If you are comfortable with your guests getting there own beer or whatever you can do that.

I'm getting married there on June 1, 2012! The place is beautiful I can't wait! My favorite part is that the fee goes directly back into the park, not someone's pocket book haha! I know someone who had a wedding there that DID NOT have a bartender so I you don't have to have one. Also, ask your caterer if they hire out bar staff. Good luck! =)

For those of you who are using the facility/have used it -

Does your fee include tables? chairs?  linens?

Also, does the 250 person estimate include banquet seating?

    Flutterbride2b- The fee includes:
    30-60" round tables
    15- 30"x72" rectangle tables
    250- Banquet chairs (burgundy)
    50- White plastic chairs

I believe the the 250 does include banquet type seating but that would have to include bride and groom and party because of the number of seats available. It really is a beautiful place. It does suck about renting/buying linens. I am going to buy mine and then hopefully resell them because I can't fathom spending so much just to rent.
    Good luck to you! :)
