NWR:: Stupid Pimples

I told my friend I think it's karma for asking FI what was on his nose. "It's a pimple you jackass" he said to me.   In the past week I've been breaking out like crazy, like 6 new pimples. GRR.  I'm hoping it's the changes in weather lately and it all goes away.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

  • That totally sounds like something my FI would say! And sorry you are breaking out, that sucks.

  • I'm breaking out too, but it's because the week leading up to my period is always hormone hell for me. Luckily it's not usually too bad though.

  • ahhh, I was having the worst breakout last week, and I was feeling so bad about it. I know how much that sucks :-/ It's kind of funny because whenever my FI is feeling bad about a pimple I always say, "Don't worry, it looks a lot worse to you than it does to anyone else." Then when he says that to me, I'm like, "HA yeah, right...." But I think it's true!

  • Are you on birth control? Not having periods has been great for my sanity/skin. Try yaz if you aren't. Your skin will dry up and you will drop 5 pounds. I sound like a freaking salesman lol

  • I just made an appointment with my family dr for a referal to a derm. I too have been breaking out a lot (I used to have the BEST skin as a teen and in my early 20's, wtf is with this adult acne?!). I noticed when I was exercising steadily and eating less carbs/sugar my skin was better. I've fallen off the healthy bandwagon and need to start drinking more water.

    Maybe try more water and less sugar? I'm also going to start going for facials every 2 weeks probably 3 or 4 months before the wedding

  • Water is pretty much all I drink :(  I wouldn't mind a facial, but we're so rural it's tough to get an appointment. I should try though.

    I was on yaz and it was way screwy for me.  I'm on nuvaring now.

    This sounds just like me. I never has pimples in my teens. Once I hit 28 all he'll broke loose. I pray that I have a job with health insurance before the wedding so I can make sure my skin is back to early 20s condition.
  • I had a crazy case of the zits when I was on a BCP that essentially made me not have my period.  It was the best/worst BCP ever.  I had to change because my face go so incredibly bad.  Almost 2 years later and my face is controllable but I still get these teeny zits (most likely from working out) all over my face.  I just bought a Clinique Acne Kit this weekend and it's already starting to clear up my face.  I really hope it works.

    I'm also curious about doing "oil washes."  A bunch of the ladies on SB talk about it... mainly J&K.  Basically she/they mix castor oil, teatree oil, and a couple others (not EVOO because that can actually cause break outs)  and massage it in their face and usually you use a hot cloth to "steam" your face and gently get it off.  Most of these ladies that do it have/had combination skin/acne issues and have said their face is awesome because of it.

    I've never heard of that before, it sounds interesting! I might read more about it, because my skin is crazy sensitive and it sounds gentler than all of the peroxide and acid in most acne treatments. Thanks for the tip :-)
