so my aunt is 40-something and having her second wedding in about a month...we are trying to think of something to do for her beforehand but she doesn't want a shower or anything like that, since it will be a pretty low-key wedding with family...we are at our wits end trying to find ideas for something special to do for her. so i thought i'd come to this board in hopes that you could help.

    If I were her, I'd love it if the women closest to me scheduled a spa day with facials, a manicure, a pedicure, and anything else useful yet indulgent.  Follow it up with a nice lunch and that sounds low-key yet "bride to be" like to me!

    Of course a lot depends on what she LIKES, because some women would be really uncomfortable with that, but I'd love it!

    Spa day and dinner is what we were thinking of doing for the B-party, but staying overnight downtown.  I think it is a wonderful idea!  If it isn't something she would be into, you could go to a pottery place and paint some stuff.

    I agree with everyone else! Spa day!

    Ask her though, because of timing. She might want this a day or two before the wedding, with a mani & pedi, so she feels super-special. Another alternative might be to see if there is someone to do her hair & makeup the day of her wedding, if she wants that. We all want to feel beautiful on our special day, even if it is "low key".

    My uncle recently got remarried and my grandma, mom, me and my aunts and cousins all took my new aunt and her kids to the Olive Garden for dinner and just gave her a nice gift basket full of all kinds of goodies. She loved it.

    Also if you can't afford a full spa day looking into haveing a BeautiControl party, they come to your house and do like a mini spa thing and then you could have a potluck lunch.
