Civil Ceremony - Chicago Courthouse?

Hello,

Fi and I are planning on eloping in Chicago (we're from Madison, Wisconsin). I found the "Cook County Marriage Court" with info on how to obtain the license. However, I am having trouble locating an officiant. Is it possible to be marriage by a judge right at the Courthouse? I understand we have to wait until the next day after we get the license.

I know they do weddings somewhere in the clerk's office, because I've seen girls in wedding gowns walking through the county building. I'm not sure when or how often they do weddings, I would suggest callking the Clerk of Cook County/Vital Records for specific information.

My uncle got married at the clerk's office. I don't know all the details because I didn't attend but family who went said it seemed like people just showed up and waited in line.

If you are interested, you can do a civil wedding at the Chicago Cultural center for like 10 minutes.

A friend of a friend did it and my friend said it was very nice.

I totally suggest getting married at the Cultural Center. It's a stunning location with beautiful mosaics as opposed to a clerk's office.
