Does anyone know of any good premarital workshops in Alabama?

Depends if you want to do it through a church or no affiliation.  We are Catholic so we will be attending this: http://www.engagedencounter.org/ after speaking with the Father for a weeks :-)

My fiance and also I went to the Engaged Encounter weekend in Cullman. They have one in Mobile, also. It's affiliated with the Catholic Church, of course, but we met couples who were of mixed faiths. Only part of the discussion is directed towards Catholics, but for the most part it was EXCELLENT for any couple wanting to build a solid foundation....it reminds you to focus on the marriage and not the wedding.  You basically spend a weekend breaking up by yourself, writing about a topic in your journal,  and then meeting back with your partner to discuss, and then you talk with other couples about what they thought about the topic. (issues like money, how to raise kids, when to start a family, etc....)

    Hope that helps!

Try IMPACT FAMILY COUNSELING in Birmingham.  They do premarital coaching as well as couples counseling (they say for people with "deeper" issues.  The guy who does the coaching is really great.  His name is Mark and he is very insightful.  I think they also do couples classes.

My fiance and I are going to the engaged encounter in Cullman next month! Looking forward to it, but nervous! Would love to hear about more experiences everyone has had. I've heard mixed reviews!

Anyone else have to take that FOCCUS test? Thoughts?
