My dress is too big!!! ;-(

I went with my MOH to go pick up my dress today. I knew I had lost a little weight but apparently it's also been inches because the dress was literally 1 1/2 sizes too big on me today. I ordered it on Aug 27. She said if we hadn't needed to order extra length the manufacturer (Maggie Sottero) has let them exchange sizes before.

When I ordered it in August I was wearing a size 12 pants and the sample size 14 was a little snug in the hips an they recommended to order for the biggest measurement on your body. So I ordered a 16 extra length thinking I could lose a little to wind up where the sample size was. Little did I know. Today this lady said it was big enough they could take out the corset back and put in a zipper! And I want to keep the corset back!

She recommended a seamstress nearby who has 30 some years of experience and is good with lace. But I am still bummed ;-(

    Ah, I have the same exact problem, but luckily FI's aunt is a wonderful seamstress and says she will be able to alter it for me and still keep the corset back. I would attempt to look for a seamstress who feels 100 comfortable with doing it... If not, I agree that I'm sure you'll still look great in it!

    Congrats on the weight loss! I wish my dress was too big! You should be able to have a seamstress take the dress in on the sides instead of the back. Its a bit more work and it may cost you some money, but you should definitely be able to keep the corset back.
