Help…Distance between Ceremony and Reception to far???

Ok so the ceremony will be held in Clifton (Coryville) at a small church my grandfather used to preach at, he passed away a few years ago and the new pastor said we can use the building for free and he will be our officiant  for free, but the reception area’s I was looking at was in Loveland and Amelia…I think this may be way to far to have the guest travel, but both of theses places are in my budget, the one in Loveland I would have to pay 400.00 for the hole day but that don’t include food, and the one in  Amelia would be about 1,000 and that includes food,  decorations and many other items…. Does any one know of something that is closer to my ceremony site and under 1000?….Thanks

I don't think it's too far at all. I've been to a wedding in Springdale with the reception at Newpot Aquarium. Where is the place in Loveland if you don't mind me asking?

it's too far in my opinion. googlemaps says its a 30 minute drive but in reality it could take nearly an hour. it normally takes me 45-50 to drive between those areas.

how many guests will you have?

I think it depends on WHEN your wedding is. I went to a wedding in August and the travel time was 30 minutes, but it was light outside, no rough weather possible (basically), and the cocktail hour was set up well. The only issue was traffic after pictures so guests were at the wedding for about an hour before the bridal party. No worries though, great appetizers were provided and we had fun. If its in February and it will be dark, possibility of snow, and ice on the roadways - I think it would be too far. But that's just my opinion. Good Luck!!!
P.S. I know the exact drive they would be doing (I used to go from Clifton to Loveland and back on a regular basis) it is really easy unless its btw January-March. Then sometimes the traffic, potholes, and weather can get annoying and add time.

There will be 40 people and 11/27/11 is the date, so hopefully no snow...starting time 1-1:30 maybe ending around 4 or 5Smile
