Brooches, garters and ideas, Oh My!

Hey ladies,

My seamstress made me a matching garter and toss garter set as a little thank you and I'm looking at ways of spicing it up a bit (they are a plain silk satin black garter set). I was thinking about maybe adding a brooch to the main garter and some crystals to toss garter, but wasn't sure. Where do you think I could find a nice vintage style brooch without breaking the bank (I'm talking no more than 20-30 bucks) to attach to it? Any other ideas of spicing it up? I know no one is really going to be seeing the main garter except for my girls, fi, and photographer (pictures!). And the toss garter is no BFD. I just wanna make my garter pretty for memories and keepsake purposes.

    I was at Macy's one day, and we were looking through their clearance jewelry section. They had all sorts of little crystal brooches or earrings that you can just make work! We were originally thinking of adding our own brooches to the BM sashes, but we just decided it would be easier (and cheaper) to get one of the ones at the Alfred Angelo store. But....that was after we did a little searching at Macys. It's definitely worth checking out.

    Also, maybe etsy and ebay?

    This etsy shop has a bunch of different brooches, and they are reasonably priced.  Maybe you'll find something you like!

    Glad to help!! Recently I've been thinking of getting one to put on my bouquet, and maybe my MOH's. She's going to be wearing the same thing as the other girls, and same bouquet, so I want to do something special for her and a pretty cheap brooch may be perfect!
