Question...

My parents told me that my grandma shouldn't come to the wedding because she is 90 and is in a wheel chair and it'd be too stressful for them lifting her in the bathroom etc. She is really looking forward to my wedding though and I tried googling about a help aide that will come to our wedding, but I have no luck.

Does anyone know of an aide in the Fishkill/Poughkeepsie area?

Maybe you could try calling Wingate in Fishkill, they are a nursing home/rehab center.  They maybe able to give you the name of a company that provides home nurses etc.

I'm guessing that your grandma doesn't have someone taking care of her now...  My grandma has issues as well so we did the same thing- hired an aid to stay with her for the whole wedding so my mom wouldn't have to worry.  The only difference was that the person that we used was already her aid during the day.  We didn't hire her through her agency though, we just paid her cash to do it on her own time.

There's an agency in Poughkeepsie called Unlimited Care.  Not sure if agencies would do something like this, but maybe they would know if one of their peeps would do it as a side-job.  Not sure how you feel about it, but you could always check out the Pennysaver too.  There might be someone in there that is available as an aid/companion.
