nj photographers??

hello! need some help choosing a photographer.. haven't checked anywhere out yet just heard different things about different companys and met some at bridal expos.. so far Abella studios and Papillio photography are two I know of in Jersey.. I also heard alot about Emerald Studios in Staten Island- Any recommendations or info/pricing on the ones I have mentioned?? Thanks!!

    We hired Matt Rainey for our wedding last year and he was awesome ... such a nice guy, fast turnaround time and his photos are fantastic.

    we are working with sarah postma, she is now based out of chicago, but is still doing NY/NJ weddings.  our wedding isn't until July, but we had engagement pictures as part of our package and she was great to work with and we really love her work!

    we're using Figtree Productions and they are great...my cousin used them for her wedding and everything turned out so wonderful!  we're also using them for videography because after i saw my cousin's wedding dvd i needed to have one too!  so nicely done and they are not in your face on the day of the wedding.  they have a way of being discrete with the photography and videography and you don't even realize they are there.  when i saw my cousin's wedding album i was shocked to see how many pictures i was in without even remembering them taking the photo!  they also capture every little detail of the day which was really important to me.  you can see some of their work on their website figtreeproductions.com.  best of luck to you!

    I used Geri Nelson, you can see her work in my sig and in the slideshow i posted earlier this week.  A bit of advice: I would look at an individual photographer rather than a studio, as I've heard horror stories about not meeting your photographer beforehand, staff changes, etc. that have left many brides on this board upset during the process or unhappy with their final product.  Not saying all studios are bad (some are very good and allow you to choose your photographer and do not undergo staff changes very often), but the general consensus seems to be that brides on this board are happier with individual photogs.  Just my 2 cents.

    This has been asked many times and you'd do well to do a search.  The reality is, everyone is going to recommend their photographer, otherwise, they never would have hired them!  That said, prices and styles are all over the place.  The names that seem to come up most often are Jason Rhee, Robert Wayne Photography, and Sean Patrick; sometimes I hear Josh Lynn or Matt Rainey among MANY others.

    We selected Robert Wayne Photography.  The price is right, I like their a la carte approach (no predefined packages), his albums are stunning, he seems like a very good guy, and we really like his style of photography.

    We are using Creative Images in West Orange.  They were recommended by a friend--and we are so happy with them so far!  Great work and great prices.

    We also booked them for our video.

    I booked Emerald. They gave us a great price and I know many people who have used them and they do great work. I was also really impressed by The Studio Photographers but they were really expensive.

    We are booking CIP Studios in Chester nj. www.studiocip.com. Great people to deal with, we met once and they never hounded us like the other studios did. They shot our friends weddings.
