Update on Parent Gift Question

I had a stroke of genius today!  I think we're going to get family portraits done for both sets of parents from our photographer, and frame them as their gifts.  For my parents, it will just be my brother and my fiance and I, but for his parents, it will be us, his younger brother and sister, his older brother, SIL, twin nephews, and baby niece.  Good idea, right?!?

    I think its a waste- only because at your wedding they do so many family portraits and then hanging up all these pictures will be a bit much.  Why are you paying for a wedding photog then? I have both our family pics from wedding day up, its nice.

    I think it's nice.  When your parents have a family portrait from your wedding day, you're the center of attention.  When it's just the family doing a portrait it focuses on the whole family.

    I think it's a great idea.

    If it's from the wedding then great! If not, I wouldn't bother bc of what pp said. 

    If they were planning on getting parent albums though I might pass as well since that's kind of like the same thing.

    I think its a great idea. I made a frame with wedding day pictures of my parents leaving their church, my sister &her husband getting married, and both sets of grandparents on their wedding date. We then includes our e-pic and will replace it w/ our wedding pic after the wedding. That way they have a frame w/ 3 generations of wedding day pics- just another idea if u think ur parents would like it- the grandparents wedding photos arent ones they have really seen, so I think that will make it more special
