Need help with flowers please!!!!!!

I just had my first florist appt and I am feeling more overwhelmed than after any of the other vendor appts I have been to.  I was not excited about this at all, as I have NO idea what I want with flowers.  I came up with a couple different color schemes-I love how red and purple looks together, and the only other thing I can think of is different shades of purple.   At the appt, I went more with the red and purple idea and the florist told me what flowers she thought I should use, but I'm having a hard time picturing it all pulled together!  She said to go with the dark red roses, purple lisanthiums, and lavendar roses. The bridesmaids dresses are a dark purple.  It's called Lapis at David's Bridal.

Any ideas from anyone else on what colors/flowers might look good?

I really dislike flowers right now : (

    We used red and purple as our main colors and it turned out beautiful. The flower colors were mostly deep red and dark eggplant purple and the bridesmaid dresses were an eggplant purple. We also added pops of color to the flowers with some orange spray roses and chartreuse green which made all the colors very vibrant and brightened the look. If you email me at e underscore ledger at hotmail dot com, I can send you some pictures and the flower boards that the florist gave us which showed all the different flowers and the names.

    For some reason the knot wont let me post pictures, I was in a wedding with bright purple and red flowers. I will try and upload a pic later on. She used purple anenomoes, some sort of red berries, red roses, and purple dendrobian orchids. I thought they were really pretty.

    i'd be happy to send you my contract from my florist - my colors are eggplant and grey.  the florist lined out all the different flowers for my bouquets and i spent a good hour google imaging them.  it was fun :)

    i'm going through some revisions right now, but i do love the BM's flowers as is
