Invitations

Did you do them yourself? if so, what website/place did u go for the paper etc?

If you had them done... where did u go?

Did you see a big difference in the cost?

I ordered my invitations from Wedding Paper Divas. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice eveything looked having ordered it online. I got many compliments from my guests!  I didn't price compare, but the prices don't seem outrageous to me. http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/

Quite a few people have used Cards and Pockets. Apparently they send you a kit to DIY them, then you just print them out and assemble them. I haven't decide which route I'm going to take for them yet.

I am making my invitations myself and using cardsandpockets for the pocketfolds, bought bulk cardstock and am printing/cutting/glueing myself. The price is cheaper, but that's only because I'm discounting my own personal labor of course. If you're short on time, I think it's easier to order.

I made my own and wouldnt have done it anyother way.

The cost depends on what kind of invites you want. Know that pocketfold and letterpress are the most expensive. Pocketfold because of the number of pieces and letterpress because of the whole process.

Also how many you need makes a big difference too.

I ordered mine from Ab Fab Paper Emporium on 2920.  The Paper Duvet line of invitations were exactly what I was looking for & Alma is fantastic to work with!

I liked the invites from exclusively weddings but they were too pricey so I bought the Laura Ashley Jacket Invitation Kit (from amazon, $77.96) and did them myself, actually my computer whiz brother created a design on the blank cards. I ordered the green vellum jackets also for $35.98, the kit came with the white ribbons to tie around the invites....spent total of $113.94 for 100 invites

I'm going with Costco.  I've seen them done before and they look nice and are a lot cheaper than I've found other places.  I just want something relatively simple so it works for me.

i also liked the paper duvet style - if you order through misora bridal (in chinatown on bellaire), they give you 15% off.

I decided to design, print, and assemble my invitations, save-the-date cards, programs, etc. since I began the planning process about a year ago.  I expect to send out about 150 invitations, so if you include the cost of the color laser printer and black toner I purchased for project ($75 on craigslist) and the paper, envelopes and other materials, I think I'm coming in at about $100 total (minus postage).  Since I enjoy doing DIY projects and have the extra time, I'm not including labor.  I would advise that if you are not a creative person nor do you have the extra time, spend the extra $$ and order them.
