Alternatives to a pillow??

I'm home sick with laryngitis today so all sorts of stuff is running through my mind and I'm actually a bit focused on this one. My sister sent me the ring bearer pillow and it's ruffling me a bit.

1. I don't see my nephew walking politely down the aisle with a pillow.
2. I'm not a very traditional bride - we're doing a swinging 20s themed wedding.

Anyone using alternatives or am I too far outside the box on this one? I'm hitting up Google too but I wondered what my month twins were doing for this....

  • We were considering doing a little wooden box. There are all kinds of awesome ones on Etsy (here)! You could also do a book, a dish, a little bird's nest... so many options!

I'm using a pillow but you can use basically any item you want that could carry rings. What do you envision him walking with?

I hope you feel better too! :)
  • he could also carry a flag or banner or sign that says "here comes the bride"
  • Not sure yet Midge; I never really thought about it until I saw the pillow. What do you think about this:

But maybe something more boy-ish like a book; I just don't want to fru fru my little nephew. Does that make sense?

  • I purchased a cute, personalized clay dish from a vendor on etsy.  I'm going to keep rings in it after we get married too (I don't sleep with my e-ring on).

  • I bought a VW Beetle model (FI loves VW Beetles and re-did one that he still has).  The doors on the model open, so we are going to put the ribbon through them and tie the rings to the top of the car.

  • We're having our "ring" bearers carry a 'here comes the bride' sign!  I made it myself and it turned out so cute!

  • Drink some hot tea with honey lemon cough drops in it. Maybe that would help a little bit.

This is what we are doing. There are 2 of them so they are going to hold a banner. The best men will each have a ring.
