Have you used or been to an event at Urban Studio?

We are trying to find an affordable venue for early May of 2011 and have come across Urban Studio.  I was wondering if anyone has been there and what they thought of it?  Thanks for the help!

    Yes, I found that place online and was considering holding the reception there as well.  It's a really cool spot.  It's swanky and urban and I liked it very much.  On the weekends they rent the space out for various events.  I went there one night and it was a dance club and my FI was like "isn't this that art place we were looking at?"

    Anyway it would be a really great spot for cocktails, mingling and dancing but there really aren't places to sit.  So, you'd have to rent chairs (adding an additional expense) if that's important to you for your guests.  Also, consider the fact that it's in downtown pdx so the parking is more difficult (and not free unless after 7pm).

    I have never held an event at Urban Studios, but I use their catering service, Pearl Catering, for work events.  Fantastic food every time.

    I had my company holiday party there last year - they were great to work with and super affordable. You don't need to rent chairs, btw, it comes with the package.

    Actually, I am having my wedding reception at Urban next June and you do need to rent chairs. However, you can do it through them so it is super easy... and they obviously set everything up for you as they are also the caterers for their own venue. I attened a wedding there last summer and it rocked. Super fun space, can be casual, or dressy. The staff is a pleasure to work with. Via, my coordinator is super quick with responses, gave me up front info and bluntly went over contracts and planning. No hidden fees, everything is super simple and safe. They have great amenities, and their price is the best in town!
