  That sucks. I get the feeling that people think an RSVP date is when they're supposed to put it in the mail, not when it should be back to you. I hope I wont have this problem, but I'm willing to bet I'll have to spend time calling people.

  It's so inconsiderate. It's even worse when you are waiting for responses from recent brides. They of all people should know how stressful this is.

  Ugh I thought that was the worst part of wedding planning.... until we had people RSVP yes and then tell me they're not coming AFTER I paid the reception site.

  That was one of THE most frustrating things.  Give it a few days and then start the phone calls.  We had a small surge come in within 4-5 days of the response date
  
  Just keep in mind that if your wedding isn't until April 28th, your response date is a bit early. It's a bit early to ask guests to respond six weeks before the big day..

  This seems to happen a lot - people realize the RSVP date is close and they send them in. It seems like they all come in within a week of the date.

   This would seriously make me mad! People need to learn to be resepctful and understand that although we want you there we are PAYING for you to be there!

  My RSVP date was on Thursday and we were missing about 60 people at that point.  We have gotten more RSVP's in the past 2 days and called others. It is just annoying.

  I hated this too...we had a bunch come in right after our date! Ours was 6 weeks ahead of time too though.

  I understand it's six weeks out. I totally get the people who are really unsure but the people who haven't repsonded are the ones calling, emailing me about how their steak is cooked, if they should bring their BF they are arguing with etc. These people know they are coming, they just have not returned the RSVP...

  totally understand!  My RSVP date was over a week ago and we need to give the venue and my aunt who is making all the placecards a final count by next week.  Still waiting on 10 couples! thats potentially 20 people and 2 tables.  Most of them are all local to our wedding and everyone got STD in october. To say I'm incensed is putting it lightly.
