Updated 11/3 VENDOR REVIEWS :) Photog, cake, hotel, hair, make-up, florist, venue, honeymoon

**I forgot a few! Oops!

My 10/22/11 Wedding was FABULOUS!

Azar Photography: A++
LOVE him, love his pictures, I have had so many compliments from my other Cbus friends about how my pictures were so much more impressive than theirs. He was extremely professional and I loved working with him! One thing we loved is that he stole us from the reception for 15-20 minutes to do some night pictures outside, which I LOVE and that turned out incredible! I highly recommend him. Here is a link to some of our photos: http://video214.com/play/rJvvh03O3bSaZutDXl0eCQ/s/dark

Alice's Piece of Cake- B+
Honestly, the only piece of cake I had is the one my husband fed to me, so I can't even tell you if I liked it. But, everyone else said they did and that it was delicious. I am only giving her a B+ because there were a few times where I felt like my questions or changes through email were annoying to her. It could just be me, but that was the impression I got when I wanted to change my cake size. I would recommend her to other brides.

Alison Feamster- A++
What can I say, she is worth every penny. She is a pleasure to work with and I fully plan on hiring her in the future for any special occasions I have. You cannot go wrong with her.

Shannon Goode- A++
I loved her at the hair trial. She spent a ton of time trying different styles to see what I might like. She is truly one of sweetest people I have ever met, and incredibly talented. Everyone loved their hair, especially me. It held all night and lasted through the dance party!

Kelly Karsten- Flowers- B+
I really like Kelly and I think she is very pleasant and willing to please. I met with her twice and I thought we had everything arranged. At the second meeting I had changed a few things from the first time, and I explained I wanted all roses. I sent here a picture of the cake with the flowers I wanted on there, they were roses. The day of the wedding there were zero roses and all lillies on the cake. Honestly, I was really disappointed and didn't like it at all. My bouquet wasn't supposed to have lillies in it either, but sure enough there were several bright yellow lillies in what was supposed to be a bouquet of roses and dahlias (I ended up pulling them out after the ceremony). I am not sure where the miscommunication happened. I would recommend her to other brides, I would just make sure it is crystal clear what you expect your flowers to look like and that if you make changes you go over them with her. The flowers were beautiful and were put together perfectly.

The Faculty Club- A++++++++
Easily my favorite vendor. I LOVE Laynie, the coordinator, that comes with the venue. The place is gorgeous, they are so easy to work with, and they did everything they could to make me happy. I had 3 separate food tastings and they created a menu that fit perfectly for us. Really, after all of the venues we looked at this was by far the most perfect for us and what we wanted for a classic, elegant wedding.

Bexley Beat- A
We used them to pick our guests up from the hotel and take them to the venue, and then back again at the end of the night. We got on the last shuttle of the night with our bridal party and some friends and ended up bar hopping. They were very accommodating on taking us wherever we wanted to go. The only issue is that apparently they had a difficult time finding the venue to drop guests off the first time even though the person I spoke with initially swore they knew where it was located.

The Renaissance Hotel Downtown- D
We were supposed to have rose petals in the room and champagne. Not only were those not there the night of our wedding, they also tried to charge me at check out for Saturday night when it was supposed to be comped. My parents stayed there Friday night and my father kept complaining of some kind of chemical smell in his room. They did move him for Saturday, but not before my father awoke with a chemically induced bronchitis from whatever was in the room. The day of my wedding he was so sick, he felt miserable. The day after he went to the hospital and they told him it was from exposure to some sort of chemical.

TEAM DJ- A+
We love Todd. He was 100% accommodating with our requests and was really helpful with suggestions when we were looking for ideas and directions. I actually like him so much we have booked him for our 5K race we have in May for the non-profit animal rescue I volunteer with to mcee. Their online music program is handy too, you can pick all of the songs you want or don't want online if you want. We only did a few and then just gave him guidelines for what we wanted to hear.

Flute Cocktail- A+
Even though I didn't get to hear them during the ceremony with the exception of the bridal march and the recessional, everyone said they were fantastic and classy. We had a violin, cello and flute and the sound was perfect. What I really loved though was that for the recessional I wanted "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles and they created an arrangement for it. It was perfect!

Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun- A+
24 hour room service, personal butlers that do everything you want, $1500 in resort credit to use on excursions or the spa... it really was incredible. I highly recommend this as a honeymoon destination if you are looking for something posh, quiet and relaxing. It is the # 1 resort in Cancun for a reason. The only down side is that it is VERY relaxing, there are some activities planned in the evenings at the hotel bar but it's not a real rowdy place. If you aren't super outgoing people who are able to talk to strangers easily you might find this resort a bit boring. If you want to sit by the pool, swim up to the bar or read a book on a beautiful beach and enjoy quiet evenings in fancy restaurants you will like it.
