July 2012 Weddings

Mega Millions!!

Don't forget to buy your tickets!!! It's at 640 millon dollars!! Wow that is crazy, almost a billion, haha. We pooled together money at work and bought 200 tickets and then I bought my own personal $5. I think even if i won, I would keep most of my wedding stuff the same though. What about you girls??

Good Luck!!!

Re: Mega Millions!!

  • I bought 1 ticket when I stopped to get gas tonight.  If I won I would keep a lot of things the same for the wedding but I would definitely hire a day of coordinator. Its not in our budget right now and the logistics of things are stressing me just a little but I am sure it will all go just fine without one.  Honestly, I dont know anyone who has used one and all the weddings I have been to have run smoothly. :)

  • I bought my ticket in quarters on my way home from work!

  • I'd keep the venue, the caterer and the photographer the same, but that's about it.

I'm actually kind of scared to win the lottery. I'm sure it would make life easier in a lot of ways, but friends and family can get weird when you have a bunch of money.

  • I bought a ticket but only because my mom told me to. I actually can't stand thinking about what I'd do with the money if I won because I know I will never will. My mom and FI like to daydream about it but I guess I'm too logical for that haha.

I did think the other day though about what I would change for the wedding, and I really couldn't come up with much. I think I would just extend our honeymoon.

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." -Isaiah 61:10 NKJV
  • If I used some of the money for the wedding, I'd change my photographer, hire an awesome videoagrapher, add tons of beading to my dress haha, bring my whole family here, get certain extras for decor, have allllll sorts of food stations.. you know, the list goes on and on. I'll save you guys and stop now lol
  • I would never win.. don't even live in the same country BUTTTTT if i did.. I wouldn't change anything about my wedding. Now the honeymoon, that's where I'd splurge.  We'd actually go on one.

(although thats not fair I guess we are going on one (situation depending now of course) We're planning on driving to the Maritimes and going province to province.  All I care about is whale watching)

  • Well we did not win :( But I would have kept most of my wedding stuff the same...maybe hired a videographer and booked a real honeymoon, but that's about it.

  • I brought 20 tickets. Someone in my state won but it wasn't me. I guess I should have went to baltimore to buy my tickets.
  • Didn't win :( But we had talked about this and honestly wouldn't have changed much about the wedding. There are a few things I'd add (cigar bar for FI, Martinit louge, videographer), and we'd definintly take a nice honeymoon, but for the most part I like the wedding the way it is, thats why I planned it this way!

  • Imagine the sting in my heart. That was my birthday, and the person that was was not only in my state and town, but they won it at a 7 eleven right down the street from me. WHYYYYYYYYY. lol
