Ceremony time

Hi ladies!  The venue that I like the most requires that the ceremony start at 4, but I feel like that is so early (everything will be over by 9:30)...  What time are you starting your ceremony?

Mine starts at 5:30 and goes til 11:30. Is your reception going to be in a different location? If so, if would be good to have a little time gap. If not and your reception has to end by 9:30, a)you might be too tired anyways and be thankful it's over earlier or b)you can always have an after party if you want it to last longer.

I'm having my wedding at 4:30...It's at my parent's house and I could have picked anytime.  I figured by the time the ceremony and pictures are all done...dinner will be served at 5:30...so I thought it was perfect.

Plus if you want to continue the party...you can always go out with friends after.  But I figure I'm going to be so ready to spend time with my HUSBAND ...I'm fine with it ended by 9:30/10

i think 4:30 is a great time to have it. you could always extend your reception by an hour if you wanted too... my sister did that.

Our wedding started at 5:00 and ended at 10:30. Time flies on your wedding day. Is your venue requiring that you can only have it for so many hours? I would request to extend the time it lasts. 4:00 isn't that early.

I am in the exact same spot as you are:  we have to be out of the public areas at my evenue by 530 - which puts our ceremony time at 4-430, and then cocktali hour 430-530.  Thus, our reception ends at 930.

What we have decided to do, thanks in large part to our best man and MOH, is have an after-party at one of our favorite restaurant/bars which happens to be in walking distance of the venue.  We aren't officially annoucing it, but it will be word of mouth.  That way those that want to continue the party can, we'll come and have a few drinks and fun, and those who don't, don't have to.
