Re: 5 days till shower and registry still almost full!!

  • How many people were invited to your shower?

Maybe people are procrastinating or they are just giving you cash/gcs!

We're having the opposite issue, there's not much left on the registry (182 out of the 253 items we registered for have been fulfilled) and I'm worried that people will start to go "off" registry...but I'm hoping people will do GCs or cash if there's nothing left to pick from.

  • i wouldn't worry about it, you're just giving yourself another thing to stress about.  i know i've not bought things for people until i was on the way to their shower  hahaha

if it makes you feel any better out of the 119 things i registered for at BB&B only ONE thing has been bought.

but we're not getting married for the gifts, right?  i know it's difficult, but i would recommend you find something else to focus on  :)
  • Don't be suprised if people bought things on your registry but didn't tell the checkout cashier. If that happened, it wasn't removed from your list automatically.

  • i'm in a similar situation - i'm thinking maybe they'll be giving cash instead...but we'll see. :)

Yeah, people are procrastinating.  And even if they aren't, what can you do about it?  Nothing.  And I say don't stress about things you have no control over =]

  • Don't worry.. I stalked my registry right up until the day before my shower, and a week before I still didn't have much purchased yet.  Then on that Friday and Saturday (my shower was on a Sunday), a LOT of stuff was bought.  People just wait until the last minute, I think some was even that morning!
  • At my shower, no one bought off the registry, even now theres 3 items (out of 100 and something) bought. Unfortunatly you cannot tell people they MUST buy off your registry, I got some great stuff because people altered and I also got some stuff I really dont want and dont need (my FMIL got me a breadmaker, I dont want it, I dont have time to use it, and they bought it right after christmas as a final sale so theres no way i can take it back.....) Learn to fake a smile and act like its the best gift in the world no matter what it is.
