Tanning recommendations

Hi ladies,

As the big day draws closer, I'm considering going to get a spray tan because I am probably one of the whitest people (on the verge of being opaque) on the earth.  I don't want anything crazy dramatic, just something natural and not orange or streaky.  I'm terrified that it will go wrong though so I'm hesitant.  Let's just say mystic tan is not kind to me :) Do any of you have recommendations on who I should use? TIA!

I've done airbrush tanning before at Westlake Dermatology, I don't know if they still do it, but they did a good job, though my skin didn't take it very well. It looked good the first day and then started getting splotchy in some areas. I don't know if I would risk going somewhere without testing it out first to see how your skin takes it, but you might be too close to your wedding to do that.

I used Airbrush Studio of Austin for my bridal portraits & for the wedding. Renee was AMAZING! So sweet and professional. For my portraits i wore a swimsuit because i didn't really care about "tan" lines (i had a tube top on since my dress was strapless). We were supposed to go to mexico for our honeymoon and i didnt want funky tan lines...I'm super modest but ended up wearing a thong and nothing on top to get a really good tan with no lines. I was super comfortable with Renee and she said you can wear as much or as little as you want. My tan looked amazing and lasted a while. She is very reasonably priced too. She has a website...airbrushstudioasutin.com

I went to 360 Tans for an airbrush tan and they do an awesome job - it looks natural, the staff is professional. Mystic doesn't work for me so I was skeptical but airbrush is awesome...as long as you are okay being nude or almost nude in front of someone who is physically doing the airbrush, it's the way to go! I was super pleased with the results.

Check out Bronzen in Austin. The owner's name is Lori. She is wonderful and it is really affordable! She will even come out to your home.

This is a dumb question, but does the tan rub off at all on your dress if you airbrush?

No, doesn't rub off at all. The only time it rubs off is immediately after, if you happen to put on your clothes before it dries all the way. What does rub off is washable and doesn't stain at all. The tan lasts up to a week, so I would get it done a day or two before your wedding.

I saw the groupon and that is one of the things that reminded me about wanting to get a tan.  However, when I looked that particular company on-line there were some reviews that made me hesitant to go see them.  There were plenty of good reviews out there too, but most of those came from posters that had only written that one review, so I didn't put much faith in them.  Thanks ladies for all of the suggestions.
