Hi All:
I've given some thought lately to hiring a Wedding Coordinator. I was thinking it would be better to have someone handle all of the "day of" or "day before" issues, so that we can relax, and not have to appoint a friend or family member to do "chores" during the ceremony and/or reception.
Has anyone else decided to hire a Wedding Coordinator? What influenced your decision? What should I look for (or beware of) when looking for a Wedding Coordinator? Thanks in advance for any information you can share!

We had 2 planning meetings.
She then:
- emailed all my vendors to coordinate the schedule.
- set up my reception and ceremony location - including centerpieces, linens, table numbers, guest book table, card box, cocktail table/area, escort cards and cake, plus signs for the ceremony.
- fixed problems that came up immediately (like my escort cards, which had started to get moldy - ew! - or when the DJ played the wrong first dance song.
- Kept us to a schedule - informed us when cocktail hour was almost over and asked when we wanted to serve dinner, told us when we should do our first dance, told us when we should cut the cake, etc. I was pulled in so many different directions that half the stuff wouldn't have gotten done otherwise.
Our families were coming from out of town and knew nothing about the area. Plus, I wanted them to be able to have fun and not worry about set up. If you can't afford it, that's one thing, but if you can swing it I definitely think it's money well spent.
