seacoast Catholic ceremony

Hi girls,
Has anyone had a ceremony at a Catholic church in the seacoast area? Our reception will be at a venue on the ocean, but we live close to 2 hours away, and seem to be having trouble finding a church that will marry us because we do not live in the community therefore are not members of the church. Any suggestions where to look?

    I too would be interested in suggestions on this topic.  We are getting married in Danvers and are making Salem, MA the hub for the rehearsal dinner, hotel and hopefully the ceremony.  We have an appointment set for the end of April with Father Murphy at Immaculate Conception in Salem to discuss getting married there.  He said they will make an exception for out of town couples "once in a awhile depending on the circumstances".  I have my fingers crossed that he will marry us.  Many Catholic churches will not marry  a couple unless one of you or someone in your family is a parishioner. 
    Where are you getting married?  There are a couple of non-denominational chapels in the Rye/N. Hampton, NH area that are adorable and will marry couples of any faith.....they are small though.

    I know of a couple that married at Immaculate Conception in Portsmouth - both non members.  The "donation" was $1500.00. A bit steep.  The South Church, also in Portsmouth, is nondenominational and was only $500.00.  Both are very big.

    Our reception is at the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury, MA, and we could not be more excited! 

    We looked into Union Chapel in Rye, but the gentleman I spoke with on the phone said that comfortably, it only holds 85 people, and we need to accommodate about 130. We also tried St. Theresa's in Rye (which is where I really wanted), but the secretary said they do not marry non-parishioners. I didn't speak to the Rev. directly though. Did you speak directly to the one in Salem???

    I'm in love with the Union Chapel!  For awhile we were strongly considering have the ceremony there (our wedding is small, only 60 guests), cocktail hour at Fuller Gardens across the street and then the reception at the Exter Inn but it just seemed like too much traveling for guests.  That area is gorgeous!

    I did speak with Father Murphy of Salem directly but I'm not confident that he will make an exception for us.  I think it all depends on if he thinks our reasons for wanting to get married there are good enough.  We'll see!

    Good luck in your search.  It sounds like MOG730's suggestion about the South Church in Portsmouth might be a good option.
