Save the Dates...

I wanted to use my engagement pics (we're taking them 4/18) for my STD's... My wedding is Sept 18th.. When do I need to send them out?  Was planning on sending actually invites early July.  So how late is too late for save the dates?

Re: Save the Dates...

  • At this point,  if you really want to send STDs, you should send them ASAP.  Do not send invitations in July.  That's way too early.  6-8 weeks is the norm, and plenty of time for guests to respond (especially if you send STDs).
  • STDs should usually be sent out 6-9 months in advance, so if you're going to be sending them out, they should probably go this week or not at all.

6-8 weeks is the best timeframe for invitations, so for September 18th you shouldn't send them earlier than July 24th.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • STDs should really go in the mail now.  So if you're not taking engagment photos until next month, use a different photo or send STDs w/o a picture.
  • I wanted to get my engagement pics on the save the dates, but the weather wasn't nice enough to get our outdoor pics done yet.. so i didn't get them on the savethedates. instead i collected a few good pics and we voted on the ones to use for the save the dates...they save the dates came out awesome still!
