Is anyone NOT doing flowers? Seems so expensive to me and they don't last. Any alternative suggestions? I'm budgeting $500 for bouquet and centerpeices. they aren't high on my priority list!
Same here. Flowers aren't important to me. We are having our reception at Maggiano's, and they are putting candles in the center of the table for me. I can't justify spending $$$ on something that will probably be thrown away immediately.
I'm not huge on flowers anyway, so I wanted to do something different. My mom and I found these big, glass vases at Michael's that come in the shape of a wine, martini and margarita glass so we're going to make faux "drinks" out of them using this acrylic stuff that makes it look like water and use food coloring, glitter, etc to make them look like big drinks. And then put fake floating candles in them. Something different, fun, and very inexpensive. Plus my parents have a bar in their house and asked to use them to decorate after the wedding.
We're thinking of doing something similar to what nycheryl posted. I need to pick up a fake flower and try it in the water to see if it looks real enough especially because Micheal's put them on sale every once in a while! We're also considering doing potted plants that people can take home, although that only works if enough people live in town and can take them with you. Or if you live in town and can take them with you.

We're not doing flowers either. If anything, we'll buy cheap vases from IKEA, fill them with water and candles like the link.
we're doing small pink and white votives, nothing major. Just enough to add a special touch on the table
