Hello Ladies,
I normally don't post on here, but I always came to this board with hopes that I would find vendor reviews and I was usually dissappointed at the lack of reviews. So I decided to give mine for our 10/20/12 wedding.
Ceremony: Park Church
Very beautiful church and Pastor Ed was very easy to work with. He was willing to do as much or as little as we wanted and was very friendly. The location is also right across the street from the Maumee river, we haven't seen our pics yet, but we took some by the river and they should be beautiful.
Dress: David's Bridal
At the appointment for my dress they were very helpful and attentive, I ended up getting the first dress I tried on. At the appointment for my girls dresses they were less attentive and we had trouble even finding our associate so that they could try dresses on. And when their dresses were ready they only called one of my 2 girls, so the one dress just sat at the store until she called a couple weeks later to check on the status of her dress.
Hair/make-up: Attitudes Salon on Heatherdowns
To start off with I was a little annoyed with them, the 3 of us got to the salon a couple minutes early for our appointments (we each had our own stylist) and my girls got in right away, but I was left to sit in the waiting area for 20 minutes past my scheduled time. I kind of had a freak out moment, but they handled it well and got me back there and had an extra stylist helping mine catch up. We ended up getting every thing done, it was just a stressful way to start the day, but the stress was worth it, the hair and make-up turned out great for everyone, and everyone that we interacted with at the salon was very nice.
Tuxes: President Tuxedo
The staff was helpful when i went with DH to pick out tuxes, but their color palate to match the dresses was a little out dated. And from what I hear from the boys a couple of them were given the wrong size shirt, and when they asked about it, the staff said they couldn't do anything about it. Also all of the boys said their shoes were very uncomfortable. That may just be all mens dress shoes, but that was their opinion. In my opinion we paid a decent amount of money for a not so great return, but in the end things fit well enough, and the colors were correct.
Flowers: In Bloom Flowers and Gifts(Maumee)
Again very friendly staff. The flowers turned out just how I imagined. If you go here make sure you keep your reciepts. They lost track of my deposit payment and probablly would not have been able to find it, if I had not looked up on my credit card app as to when I paid it. a bonus was they through an extra corsage and extra boutineer in, the downside to that was they didn't tell anyone that, or mark on the containers that they were extra, so again I freaked out when I couldn't figure out who didn't have what they needed to have.
Photography: New Image Photography
We haven't gotten our pics yet, but they have a preview screen play at the reception and what we saw we liked. Their prices are fair. For almost all the packages you get 2 photographers. Our photographers were very charismatic and professional. They got a little scatter brained at the reception when DH and I were suppose to be taking pictures they had a hard time figuring out how to set up their equipment, but part of that blame goes to the reception venue.
DJ: The Class Act by Bob Norris
The owner is very friendly, and our DJ Doug was very attentive to what we wanted. Anytime I asked him for something he would do it. Our crowd was a little difficult to get them to dance, but that wasn't his fault, that's just how most of our guests are.
Reception Venue: The Toledo Zoo
Let me just say Colleen is the best person to work with! I know I've said everyone has been friendly, but Colleen is over the top. Very willing to help and help me figure things out. Any changes I made with the contract she was very fast to send me the changes and different charges. I think what impressed me most was we saw her at the bridal show at the zoo and when we did our tasting with about 20 other couples she always knew exactly who we were and what our names were.
We also had a day of coordinator from the zoo, Michelle, again very helpful and was able to direct thing very well.
The food was amazing, and the staff did a very good job at setting everything up, it all looked better than I could have hoped for.
At first look the price seems high, but honestly you get a lot for your money, and probably equals out to most other places.
If I had to recommend only one of our venues it would be the Toledo Zoo
Cake: Timberline Bakery (Toledo Zoo)
At first very difficult to get a hold of, it took as a month to even talk to someone about scheduling a tasting, and that was with Colleen's help. After we placed our order they changed bakery managers, and after that they were much much much easier to work with. We did a cupcake tower with a cake top layer for our anniversary. The cupcakes were amazing, I recieved so many good comments about them. Their cupcake prices were the lowest I found anywhere at $0.90/cupcake, and they definitley did not look or taste cheap.
Honeymoon: Secret Capri Riviera Cancun
Wonderful staff! At the pool before your drink is empty they are right there to ask if you need another. The food was WAY better than we expected, especially at the steakhouse. The pictures online don't do the resort justice. Is it the newest resort,no. But it is taken care of, our juniour suite was big enough that we didn't feel crammed in there after a week. We got an ocean view room, but it was on the first floor, so the veiw was not all that wonderful. I would recommend just doing the jungle view rooms, it's quieter, plus you'll be on the beach or at the pool most of the time anyways, and when you're in youre room you wont be looking at the view anyway

Well I hope this helps, sorry for any misspellings

Good Luck with planning!
