Avg Photographer package price...is $1350 good?

Is $1350 for:

2 Photographers all day (no hour limit)
Online viewing of all photos
Engagement Session
Engagement Prints- 2 5x7, 1 8x10
Wedding Prints- 1 11x14, 2 8x10
All photos on a DVD

Albums are extra- the one we like is a 20 page (40 slides) 10x10 for $1080

We like the photographers and their products, but wondering if their prices are reasonable or if we should keep looking for cheaper? We  are paying for our whole wedding ourselves, so we are definitely on a budget.

the photographers are actually an enaged couple. The guy is a friend of a friend, which is why I checked them out in the first place- but they seem great.

OK I am going to just be blatantly rude here. They are complete junk. $1350 is crackhead photography prices. NOBODY worth anything will leave the house for less than $2000.

That is beyond a great price for the services they are offering you.  I tend to be a little less skeptical then then sarsilver.  I did find some reviews of them on myfoxphilly http://myfoxphilly.cityvoter.com/tami-melissa-photography/biz/419429

Ditto PP, my photog is charging less than 2k, not as low as the OP is looking at,  but sometimes when they are new to the business they can't charge as much as the photogs that have been around for a long time. So I think if they like the work and they click with them, it is a match!

There is a huge margin of difference in her pricing. I don;t think a photographer can lower their artistic ability based on price, the only thing they can really discount is physical product and time.

She's not giving you an album, but some of the more popular photogs don't give albums yet still charge $2000 or more. So I'm gonna have to guess that she is not putting much time into the project. $1350 for what is usually a 8-10 hour day is not a lot of money per hour, when you consider how long it would take to edit all those photos - and that's where I think you are going to see the quality gap; the editing.

It's not a bad payday if all she is doing is just shooting and handing you a DVD. You really don't want to be making an album with untouched photos. Wedding albums are highly photoshopped, even though some girls would like to think they are perfect and don't need it. LOL  Be careful with going some somebody who is very in expensive. There might be some hidden issue you weren't aware of.

Agree with above comments.  Our photog is less than $2,000 and I love the quality.

our photographer is also below $2000 and I lovvee his work.   So really it depends on your preference.  I do not think you will find cheaper than that price and if you like her work and you feel confident I say go with them. good luck!

If you like their work and you think they are good people you can trust to do their jobs on their big day, book them.  I wouldn't care what other people say.  Maybe they were second photographers for someone else before, and are just starting on their own, so they are reasonably priced.

Again, it's your day... if you like them, go for it!

If you are concerned, ask A LOT of questions, and ask for references.  If everything seems up on the up and up, then yes, it's a great deal.  There are a lot of cheaper photographers that don't have the quality, but there are also a lot of expensive photographers that aren't worth it.  As long as you are happy with what you are getting, that is all that matters.

Our photographer has been great! We had engagement photos taken, will get 2 photographers for our entire wedding, photos on a disc and online, etc. All for LESS THAN $1,000. Just because someone costs more does NOT make them a better choice. If you like their work and the price is right for you, I say go for it!

I seriously doubt your photographer is any good if you are getting all that for less than $1000. Stop kidding yourself. True talent costs. Plain and simple.

HAHAHA. Yeah right. NO photographer worth ANYTHING will charge less than $1000. Especially for two photographers and all day coverage. What? Did you stalk a high school to get some photography student to do it? Just crazy!

Actually no, but thanks. We have two actual, adult photographers with experience. Turns out, if you're nice to people they'll work with your budget. But great job on being so incredibly rude, I'm sure your fiance is so very lucky.
