DFW honey moon help!

Hey Knotties!

I need some ideas on a cute and classy B&B or nice hotel in the DFW area. Future hubby and I are not going on a honey moon right away because our family will be in town from out of state, so we just want to have a romantic night away for our special night. We have looked at a few places online but they aren't in our price range. Let's cap it at $300 if possible! Thanks in advance!

Re: DFW honey moon help!

  • We stayed at the Hotel St. Germaine in Uptown on our wedding night.  I think it was under $300/night, but our parents paid for it, so I have no idea.

  • We're staying at the Omni Mandalay, a resort-type hotel.  The Anatole is also a really nice hotel, and if you want a full resort place, the Gaylord-Texan is beautiful.

  • We are staying at the Belmont the night of the wedding. We got a $200 suite. There is a restaurant downstairs that serves brunch (it's not a hotel restaurant, it's just attached to the building, it's called Smoke and it's YUM. We are having a casual brunch there with family the next morning.
The views of the city are amazing, too.
  • Hotel ZaZa is always nice, and Uptown is a nice central place with lots of things to do. Or, there's a bed and breakfast off Main Street in Grapevine which has lots of shops, a few bars and some fun wineries!
  • We like the Omni Mandalay, too, and if you sign up for their free member program online, they will probably give you a nice upgrade for your wedding night.  Pretty sure it is under 300 a night.

For a fancy schmancy wedding night, the Joule would be fun--from what I hear they treat honeymooners really well.  For a nice boutique hotel, I would recommend the Melrose in Uptown where I got married.  Lots of old school charm and lots to do in that area.  The Belmont is one of mine and hubby's favorite places to go for drinks although we've never stayed there.

I saw Professor Science's pics on FB and was blown away--I never knew about that hotel and it's on my list of places to stay.

It's really just a matter of what your taste is.

I second the Belmont (and Smoke for that matter- yummo!) It is super unique and I know nothing else that is like it!
Omni in Fort Worth is nice too! FI and I are staying at Zaza for our "honeymoon" since we have to wait until school is out until we go on our real honeymoon (end of June). I am really looking forward to it considering it is in my favorite area of town.
  • You should keep an eye out for hotel specials based on the date you need through priceline, hotwire, travelocity, and others. Right now hotel rooms for Hotel ZaZa and the W are going for just under $270.

ZaZa probably the best for romance.

  • Oh, to piggyback on Jen's comment, Living Social does lots of local hotel deals, too.
