It's Saturday

I just braved Sams Club to grocery shop(in case anyone didn't know, you'll save a TON in meat prices!)

H and I are still not feeling well, stupid flu!

Anyone else have anything fun going on?

Re: It's Saturday

  • You are so brave! Sam's club on a saturday! This is FI and my only day off together, so we're going to clean house as soon as we both get off the computer, then we'll spend the afternoon watching football together. Go Niners!
  • Hi!

Sams and Costco both sound great, but the nearest one is about 2 hours away.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Nothing super fun. Our water tank busted last night, so I've been up since 1:30 or so and had to wash my hair in the kitchen sink at work. I'm in total zombie mode.

H and I were doing a no-spend month, but I'm thinking dinner out would be really nice, even if it's somewhere simple. Then maybe we can watch one of the movies from Christmas that we haven't gotten to watch yet, and have an early bedtime.

  • I think that would be awesome bunni! Where do you work?

Sams wasn't too terribly bad, we went a bit early like 10, the rush is usually in the afternoon.

  • I work in a small academic library for a med school. I really like it, so I've applied to get my MLS online.

Our walmart is constantly freakishly busy. they have every register-trained associate working, and the buggies still completely shut off the front of the store. It's an absolute nightmare. We do have a super nice Food City, though. It's awesome.

  • I haven't been in a walmart in years for that exact reason! haha

    Target all the way :)

  • Ha, we don't have one of those either. H likes to say the town we live in is a geographical oddity: two hours from everywhere.

  • where are you in Kentucky?

  • Pikeville. Very far eastern, in Hatfield/mcCoy territory.

  • oh, I have family in Dawson Springs.

  • Cool. I hear it's really pretty out that way, H's uncle lives around Bowling Green.

  • Hi ladies! I have friends in Lexington. Brit are you in your house yet? I lurk sometimes. :) we are closing on a new house on Tuesday. I'm so excited.
  • Hi, and congrats on the house! That sounds really exciting.

We love Lexington. We go as often as possible, and my brother just got an apartment there in the fall, so we can visit a little more often.

Where in SC are you from? Our honeymoon was in Charleston.

Have you done an intro at all? When is/was your wedding? What do you do for a living? have pets? want to share a favorite recipe?

  • Hi there. No, I've never done an intro. I live in Charleston SC! Got married Sept. 29 2012 to my Partner. We went to Vermont to get married since gay marriage is legal there. I have three pets. My cat, Britton and two pugs- Lexi and Lelah (pronounced Layla. My partner is bad at spelling lol.) 2012 was a big year for us, we both got new jobs, she was deployed, got engaged, married, and she finished her master's degree. Needless to say, I don't jump on here a lot but I will look for a recipe to share!

Wow that's a busy year! Multiple congrats to you and your partner are in order.

Charleston is such an awesome place, at least to a total tourist. I think we did every touristy activity possible, and took about 1000 pictures of architecture and animals. I'm really happy we went somewhere with so much interesting history, instead of isolating ourselves on a beach somewhere.

You are right. Charleston has so many things to offer for everyone. I love it here.

Britt, the waiting's so hard! But it will be worth it. Pinterest is driving me crazy. I'm ready to get in and get started.
  • haha, I'm looking at all kinds of things right now- It's like COOL!!!

  • Hey all! Welcome Muck, and congrats! Sounds like a busy year indeed.

Good workout this morning, lots of laundry this afternoon, and an amazing supper (if I do say so myself).

I made scallops in Thai sauce, cinnamon sticky rice and broccoli.

Now FI is out in the garage, DD is watching bad tv, and I'm looking at invitations online.

Thinking about going for a ski tomorrow morning, then myself and the other theatre teacher are taking our festival cast to lunch to thank them for their hard work (which will begin again soon. Auditions are coming up this week for our next festival.)
