Venting: Cake/Cupcake related

So long, long ago I got engaged (back in October 2009) and my beloved aunt promised me that she would make our wedding cupcakes.  Which would have been sooo perfect for our rustic barn wedding.  Well, now my aunt is not so beloved Cry

I was talking to my mom over my lunch break, and she told me that my aunt no longer thinks she will be able to make the cupcakes.

So now I have to find a cupcake vendor..... and make more WR phone calls.... and set up more vendor meetings....

I LOVE Yellowleaf Cupcakes, so I think that will be the first vendor I go after.

Sugar Rush was one of my favorites at the wedding show, eventhough I swear by Yellow Leaf ( I used to live down the street and ate there all the time).

Thanks for the other idea!  Did Sugar Rush have any coupons or anything at the wedding show?  I was there, but since I didn't know that I needed a cupcake vendor, I totally didn't grab any paper stuff from cake people.

Their website makes the cupcakes look SO good.... complimentary tastings don't count when it comes to diets, right? Wink

We're getting ours from Bella Pinka. The owner Margo is so nice! My fiance and I met with her in October for just about 30 minutes and on Saturday when I went to the bridal show she remembered me and details about my wedding...pretty impressive. The cupcakes are delicious and the service is great. I highly recommend them!!

I would NEVER recommend New York Cupcakes. Yes their cupcakes are delicious, but their customer service sucks. We got cupcakes from them for our engagement party (80+ cupcakes), and they shorted us on our order, even after giong over everything at the store and looking in each box. After we got the the venue, we realized we had missed an entire box, we called, and they pretty much said it was our fault for not remembering, even though their employee was holding the order form while going through everything with us. Then they didnt want to refund us for the cupcakes that we didn't even get! Seriously, I was so heated. They then proceeded to tell me that obviously they just weren't the right baker for us and that we could find someone else for our wedding if this is how we felt. SO Freaking rude, and we were talking to the manager!

If you're open to other options, try The Confectional, in Pike Place. They do mini-cheesecakes that are TO DIE FOR. And they are so flexible about working with you on flavors.   If you are set on cupcakes, I'd go with PinkaBella, or another smaller bakery as I've been told that Cupcake Royale and Trophy both make their cakes ahead of time and freeze them. :-( Yuck.

Also had a bad experience with NY Cupcakes, but they are my FAVORITE. I'd risk it... crazy, I know :o)

There was a groupon or living social deal a few weeks back for Cupcake Royale that I bought.  I committed to a little under 200 cupcakes so it makes me sad to hear that they are not freshly baked as mentioned above. :(  Anyone worked with them for a wedding order?
