Venues

Hey OkKnotties!!

First off i'm newly engaged! Very familiar to the knot due to being a MOH twice in the last year and half!!  Me and my FI are about to start looking at venues and I was curious if anyone had any ideas for venues around the Oklahoma City Area that would fit what we are looking for!!!

First off our guest list will be around 150.

Secondly we are looking for a more unique wedding venue
(not any of the typical chapels though lovely not what we are looking for), we want an outdoor ceremony and a more formal indoor reception with a seated dinner.

The venues do not have to be at the same place, however We would love it if they were close by.  Just curious if you had some thoughts before we are start hunting thanks!!!

Castle Falls IS great, I loved it there but my only concern was a rain plan.  If it rains you get married inside where the reception is, which is not a big deal, but the tables and chairs are already set up for dining and they don't change that, which I did not like.  Ultimately we went with the Dominion House in Guthrie because it has a garden outside, a gorgeous ballroom for the reception, and on the chance it rains it has a chapel indoors.
Have you checked Coles Garden, Devon Boathouse or the Farmer's Market?  Those might be kind of out of the norm you're looking for.

Thanks!! I have thought about the Boathouse, Coles Garden isn't really my taste.  I love the Farmers Market but my brother just had his reception there last month lol.  So I would like to have it somewhere else! Thanks so much for the suggestions.

Do you have a budget in mind?

I'm pretty lucky (my dad is paying for the wedding). so I have a pretty good budget....I don't want like an outrageous place but most things so far are looking to be in the price range.

My main issue is i'm 25 (not that that is old) but....i have been a BM six times already and have been too countless weddings at most of the chapels/venues here in oklahoma city.  So i'm trying to do something different.  I don't know if its possiable but if it is I would love new ideas and i know no matter what it will be different because it will be mine and my FI tastes but it would be fun to be at a unique venue!

How about the Overholser Mansion?  I was married there and had my reception in Bricktown.  We had an outdoor ceremoy and they have a carriage house in case of rain.

I'm having my indoor ceremony and wedding at Festivities Event Center in El Reno. They're are reasonably priced and they have a really nice outdoor garden, also. Inside is beautiful too, lots of character. Good luck to you :)
