Workout Accountability: Thursday

Good morning!

Yesterday I ran 4 miles outside and it felt great.  Hardly anyone was running since it was cooler out and cloudy; made for a nice clear path!  I had a nice healthy dinner after too.  After my eating slip-ups last week, I'm trying to stay on track.

Tonight I'll lift at the gym and do the elliptical.

How did everyone else do?

Re: Workout Accountability: Thursday

  • I had intentions of going to the gym but by the end of the day I was completely exhausted plus I had just really started eating solids so it's probably best to wait until today anyways.  We will see if I get anything accomplished today!
  • Morning!

I went for a nice walk with the dog and FI last night, though the poor puppy is sick so we were stopping quite a bit.
Ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes this morning, and feeling great.  Weights on tap for tomorrow, though I am sore!

  • Did Insanity last night and went for a walk with H.  About to do Insanity for today.  I've also gotten my eating back on track this week, (including recovering from my gluten hangover from the weekend, oops) and I feel a lot better in general.

  • Rested yesterday. Ate some pie in honor of Pi day and regretted it when I later looked up the nutrition info!

Going to have to work extra hard at the gym tonight!

  • Did 4 miles yesterday and realized my legs need a break so today will be an off day! I think I'll take a walk with the dogs and a nap!
  • So I put in my Max Recovery DVD and just wasn't feeling it.  Bad attitude and I was cheating already in the warm up.  So I turned it off and jumped on the treadmill and knocked out two miles pretty easily.  I haven't run since September before my asthma flare up, so I was pretty impressed with myself!

  • Boy something must be in the water - I was not feeling it at ALL this morning either!  I was thisclose to texting my friend & workout partner to let her know I was bailing, but I decided to push myself to go.  As soon as I saw her she said, "boy I was really hoping you would bail today!"  She was feeling the same.

Anyway, we lifted a little bit and intended on spinning for 60 minutes.  About 1/2way through class though, I started to feel a bit woozy.  I wasn't pushing myself harder than normal, but I didn't eat my normal protein shake before, so that may have been it.  I decided to leave class rather than risk the embarassment of possibly passing out!  We finished lifting & I came home & slept for an hour.

I'm still not feeling great, but if I feel better later I'm going to try to meet my other friend for zumba.  We'll see.  I decided that after this weekend I need to take my routine up a notch, especially with my diet.  7/3 is coming very quickly!
  • Last night when I got home from work I did a 45 minute circuit work out. This morning I woke up at 6:15am and totally missed spin!! I am so upset with myself! I think it's the time change. I love that it stays light later but I find the first week difficult to adjust. So fail for me today.

<div>Let me help your bad attitude by asking you some medical advice or about reactions you've had to meds......... ;) kidding. </div><div>
</div><div>I hate when that happens.  I've had all of the good intentions for a workout and then I just can't get into it.  Usually when this happens I say "fuggg it" and stop working out.  Kudos to you for actually sticking to doing something, especially running after all that time!</div>
  • Hi All - I am new but going to join in posting to try and keep me motivated!

Opted to go our for beers with FI instead of working out last night, then felt super guilty, but did manage to make it to 6am swim practice although pretty sluggish today

  • My eating hasnt been all that great the past week, but I lost 2 pounds so I guess that is good! I need to get my eating under control. I was also hoping to make it to the gym 5 days this week and it only looks like I am going to make it 4. With my schedule tomorrow, there is no way I am going to make it, so I am planning on really pushing myself tonight.

  • Ha, lbarr, please do ; I was super curious to see what running would be like 6 weeks into insanity. Plus I wanted tk work out...I just really hate the recovery workouts.

  • Lol the Max Recovery makes me want to scream "what about this is recovery!!!!" but it does feel good to do the stretches after you finish. I was going to come home and run but then I realized that I would be literally running in circles. I am on call today so I have to be available to go out on a crisis call. So I wouldn't have been able to run very far from the house. I was feeling frustrated from my day with clients, and took a shower. While I was in the shower I was trying to think of some things to do for the wedding since that always cheers me up, and then I was like "duh, working out is for the wedding!" and so I hopped out of the shower and did Jillian Michaels. Then I rewarded myself with a real shower. Feeling much friskier now. Someone threw out my lunch at work today so I ended up eating out and consuming 100+ more calories than I intended to, plus I ate half a cookie. (damn panera) but I saved the other half for FH. So instead of having quite a few more calories for dinner I have less but I will make it work! Tomorrow will be a run before work and JM after work.
