Sandals / Aruba / St. Lucia Brides?

So it's been a big wedding day for fiance and I, we got our wedding bands early this afternoon and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the Boston Globe Travel Show.  We found lots of good deals but realize we have a LOT to think about.  We've narrowed our honeymoon hunt down to three options...if you have experience with any of these three, let me know any feedback!  Our big thing is having a luxurious place to stay, less family-oriented, and having good food to eat (we went to the Dominican last year and the food at our resort was awwwful!)

Our top three ideas right now are:

-Sandals:  St. Lucia or St. John
-Aruba: Bucuti or Westin
-St. Lucia: anywhere!

TIA for any advice!

My family goes to Aruba every year.  It is a great honeymoon place!  Lots to do, but still romantic, and none of the spring break college types.  Plus, its always 85 with a breeze! My friends also went there this sept for their honeymoon and had a great time.

I've asked my friends about their honeymoons and the ones that went to Aruba seem to have had the best time out of all of them-all of them want to go back again soon

One of my friends went the the Bucati last year and LOVED it, they booked through costco travel and said it was a great deal and an awesome resort.

We are going to Aruba nad I heard the Bucuti is supposed to be incredible.  We are going to Aruba because we have our honeymoon in October (hurricane season) and Aruba tends not to be affected.  I figure the honeymoon is too important to worry about mother nature disrupting it.

That's great; thanks girls!  If other honeymooners loved Aruba that's all the encouragement I need :)

If you go to Aruba, there are a few things that are must do's (in my opinion).  Definitely a jeep tour or atv tour of the other side of the mountain (it is a desert and all hills....incredible to see the difference), snorkeling, a horseback riding tour (we are doing the tour along the beach).

Chelley do you know where you are staying yet?  I'm nervous about the Bucuti bc they don't have an all inclusive package and I heard food/drinks in aruba are really expensive?

Also I love your excursion ideas!!

DH and I are going to Aruba in 3 weeks for our anniversary.
We're staying @ the Hyatt and are not doing an AI.
There are SO many restaurants in Aruba, we didn't feel like risking missing out on great stuff.

I've heard great things about Bucuti. Westin is more of just a hotel...not a resorty feel.
I've heard really great things about the Hyatt and Marriott (as well as Bucuti).

If you want I can let you know how the Hyatt is after we return.

JHDance, that would be great.  Please do let us know how you like the Hyatt- I saw that was rated #2 on Trip Advisor.  Have a wonderful vacation!

We actually just booked aruba too because of the great reviews and hurricane (lack-of hopefully) factor. We booked ours with the JetBlue folks at the Boston Travel show and got 10% off. We used code Boston10 it is to save 10% off JetBlue- a travel show deal. I think it is good for a few more days. We are staying at the RIU for about 1 week (all inclusive) then the westin for about a week. Good luck!
