Anyone else paying for their rehearsal dinner??

What is a good price?
The place we are looking into is Conseglio's on Wooster St in New Haven. Its $34 a person for 2 apps, 3 dinner options and 1 dessert. Buffet style and pasta and salad are $2 and $4 per person extra.
We have about 20 people that are coming. Is this a normal price?
I was thinking of asking them if they can cut the cost if we choose only 2 dinners and not 3
Drinks are extra (we are not paying for that)

seeing as im doing pizza or a cookout at my parents, this seems a little expensive to me lol.

anywho, im not sure how fancy this restaurant is, but i think you could get a better price. most people wont eat $35's worth of food.

my receptions price is only $50pp (before alcohol) so i find it hard to swallow that the rehearsal isnt way cheaper.

We are paying for the RD ourselves. We're going with Bonterra Italian Bistro in Southington and with the dinner package we selected it will be $32 / adult.  We are paying for any drinks as well so that will be extra. They offer less expensive buffet options, too - I think the buffet prices are like $19?? All the pricing is on their website if you want to check it out.

I think it depends on where you go. For fixed menus, usually 20-35 is normal for most restaurants (again, depending on the type), but I'm surprised they don't include the salad or pasta.

We're going to a family style Italian place and expecting to walk away around $40pp including wine.  We're going to pre-order all the food ahead of time to try to control costs so even if there are a few extra dishes ordered, at least we'll be in the right ballpark!

that might be a tad expensive...i think you're paying in part for Wooster Street, honestly.
