Re: 5/15 Accountability!!!

  • What are you doing to keep yourself on track?

I've been very bad lately and put 2 pounds back on, but I refuse to change my ticker so I'm busting my bootie to get back to 127 this week.  I'm doing my dance videos now.  I only got 30 minutes through one yesterday, but it felt good.

What is your favorite workout right now?

My dance videos and toning my arms (that strapless dress is scaring me!)

    What is your favorite snack?

Popsicles, terrible, I know, but it's getting HOT!

How did you resist the urge??

I've started drinking TONS of water.  It really helps to fend off the cravings.

    How did you stay motivated??

My biggest motivator came last week when Footloose came on the radio and I was only able to dance through half of it.  I've been dancing since I was 5 and used to go out dancing with the girls all the time before I met FI.  Now, almost 2 years later, I'm ashamed to admit that there is no way I could dance the night away without passing out.  I really want to dance all night after the wedding so just watching what I eat and toning up isn't going to cut it.  I have to get my cardio back up.

  • What are you doing to keep yourself on track?
After abandoning the MyFitnessPal app the last two weeks, I just started using it again yesterday.  I hadn't not logged in since February, and noticed I ate significantly less yesterday b/c I had to track my food.
What is your favorite workout right now?
    Cardio at the gym
What is your favorite snack? I bought hummus yesterday so I'll be eating that this week as a snack :) I got a food processor at my shower and I can't wait to use it so I can make my own hummus.
How did you resist the urge?? I didn't the last two weeks :( FI is very bad and buys lots of goodies, but I'm just trying to really avoid them. Also, if I work out a lot, I'll treat myself to something, but only one serving size.
How did you stay motivated?? I had my first dress fitting last week and the dress has to be taken in a bit which is good, but I wasn't overly happy with how I looked. I really want to lose around 10 lbs by July.  I know if I stay on track I can lose the weight.

  • What are you doing to keep yourself on track? - Trying to stay off the couch as much as possible during the weekends.

What is your favorite workout right now? - Um, not much this past week...

What is your favorite snack? - I'm also on the hummus bandwagon.  I like it with baby carrots or those Food Should Taste Good tortilla chips.

How did you resist the urge?? - Dress fitting reminders!

How did you stay motivated?? - Dress fitting reminders!

After last week's craziness with job interviewing and whatnot I put my exercise/calorie tracking on the backburner.  I'm really bad with managing high levels of stress, so that is something I really need to focus on.  I tend to become a complete zombie and an emotional eater when I'm REALLY stressed out.

  • beachlover - making homemade hummus is one of my favorite things!! we buy MASSIVE jars of tahini for really cheap at the Indian grocery store. chickpeas are so cheap that it ends up being practically free to make your own hummus! I got a new food processor too - it's a massive kitchenaid one that is going to be SO much nicer than the $30 Target brand one I have been using for the past few years :)

With all the house stress, my bridal shower, and mother's day, I haven't been doing very well eating-wise. Yesterday, I started my day with a banana + peanut butter + greek yogurt smoothie that I made in my new kitchenaid blender, and had green juice for lunch. I felt great all day!! I plan to do the same thing today. I am hoping it kick starts some healthy habits for me!!

I went to a core circuit training class last week and it was SO HARD. I am hoping to add one of those classes in every week to boost my cardio/strength training!
  • What are you doing to keep yourself on track?
Ugh...I'm doing terrible with MyFitnessPal, and need to keep logging throughout the whole day and not just breakfast.  I have been pretty good with my morning workouts though.
What is your favorite workout right now?
Jogging.  I'm up to 3 miles!  And I added in sprints yesterday, so I'll jog for 4 miles, and sprint for 1 for about 25 minutes.
    What is your favorite snack?
    Pita chips and hummus
How did you resist the urge??
I didn't.  Last week was my birthday week, and calories don't count in my book when it's a birthday related festivity.
    How did you stay motivated??
I want my dress to look awesome, so I am constantly thinking about that.

  • Everyone is lovin' on the hummus.  I love is, too, but with pita bread so not sure how diet friendly that combo is.  I'm craving garlic hummus now!

</div><div>Awesome! Thanks for the tip!  I know tahini can be expensive! I can't wait to start making hummus.  My sister also got me a juicer for my shower so I'll be jumping on the juicing bandwagon soon too!

  • that's awesome!! welcome to the juicing world!!

Indian grocery stores can be scary so don't be overwhelmed if you venture into one. I got a huge jar for about $10 at ours - a tiny, tiny can that I got at my regular organic grocery store was like $6. It's definitely worth it!

  • What are you doing to keep yourself on track? I don't really have a "track" or a goal (probably a downfall), but when I weigh myself, it keeps me from going to sit down on the couch lol

What is your favorite workout right now? Running! I ran 6 days last week...2-2.4 miles each time :)

What is your favorite snack? Low fat string cheese...and my bad snack is brownies, but they are made with unsweetened apple sauce instead of oil, so minimal fat lol (still carbs, I know!)

How did you resist the urge?? I didn't...I made brownies lol

How did you stay motivated?? The scale! And reminding myself daily how good I feel after I work out, and how guilty I feel if I don't.
