Invitation ettiquette

Okay...We are using a pay per person pricing.  How do we let single guests know that extra guests are accounted for without sounding rude or cheap?  My fiance' has a friend who is on and off with this girl that I can't stand, and I know this sounds mean but I really don't want her at our wedding but she ALWAYS finds a way to get invited to things. HELP!!

I'm not sure what this means.  If you don't want to invite single guests to bring dates then just don't write "and guest" on the invitation.  If somebody is in a relationship, you need to invite the SO, whether you like her or not.

I'm kind of confused, but I think you don't want single guests bringing a +1.

I addressed the envelope the the guest and then on RSVP put "one seat has been reserved for you"
  • I assume you meant "extra guests aren't accounted for".

Just address your invitation exactly to those invited: Mr. John Smith

If he replies with an "and guest" or something, call him and politely explain that you have a limited budget/guest list/venue space and cannot accomodate any extra guests, but that you hope he'll still be able to attend by himself.

Then stand your ground to him and her to make it clear that she is not invited.
