Bridal Shower Venue

I know.. I know, don't plan your own bridal shower =P thank you!

Now, my sister (and MOH) and another BM have been thinking about where to have the shower, we really love the swim and racquet club but I can't justify them paying $500 for just a shower venue!  Yes, $500 is a great deal for a wedding venue... but just for the shower?

Here's my question: Are there other places similar to the swim and racquet club (bring your own food and alcohol, tables/chairs already there) that are a little cheaper?  We love the exposed beams on the ceiling... Also, any other suggestions for somewhere to have it? Restaurants that are cute??

Any opinions are welcome please =)

TIA!

Do you, your sis or BM live in an apartment complex? If so, you could check out their clubhouse.

Do you live or work in Westerville?  They have a rec center and there Buckeye Rooms are $70 to rent for 2 hours, $30 after that (if you live or work in W-ville). You could also check other rec centers or the YMCA.

My BM and FMIL were originally going to use one of the above options...but, they are actually hosting it at Brio at Polaris. They have private party rooms. The rental price ranges, I think we have a larger room for $75.  The shower will be a brunch event, starting at 11. I think the meal option they decided was a buffet, and it's like $18 a person or something.  Not the cheapest, but, they liked that they didn't have to worry about decorating, cleaning up before or after, or getting food there.

So, I guess I would start by suggesting you think of some of your fave places to eat. When all is said and done, I think pricing can end up pretty similar to renting a place out and getting it catered (or after all the hard work of cooking and cleaning).

thanks ladies! yes nnoble, i asked around for anybody that lived in an apt... the only person we know that lives in an apt is a friend's bf and they don't have a clubhouse lol.  so that one's out =\ which sucks... cause that would have been perfect!

i'll have to check out some of the places that you said, missowl! I would love to do it at due amici or schmidt's! and I've never been to sushi rock but that sounds promising =)

I went to a bridal shower at Camelot Cellars in the short north that was fantastic. You could bring your own food, but you obviously had to have their wine. The owner did a fantastic tasting and we all got personalized wine bottles to take home.

I know my wedding venue, Via Vecchia, does showers too but I'm not sure about the cost.

You don't always have to be a resident to rent a clubhouse....I know at The Quarry in G-view/Marble Cliff, you don't have to be.

If you are looking for good restaurants for your bridal shower, I'd recommend Scali's on 256 and Livingston and DeepWood downtown. The Scalis are good family friends of ours so it was a no-brainer for my shower hosts, but they also work to come up with a menu within the budget and have a separate dinning room for private parties and/or will open for a private party during closed hours. We used DeepWood for our rehearsal dinner and they were great about working with our budget, I could pick from anything on the menu, and they threw in a bunch of extras for free. They also have a private room but depending on the size of the party, they also allow the party closed off in the main dining room.
