Help with Ceremony music

Hi Ladies,

I had some songs in mind for my ceremony but the church has just said it was not allowed. i was hoping you girls can give me some recommendations for secular music for the ceremony.

Was any of it approved? If you can tell us some of the approved songs, maybe we can find similar songs and be able to help?

Any genre's you don't want?

The only approved song with the Bridal March and the Ave Maria. I need a processional and Recessional. I was hoping something a little more modern and contemporary thx!

Ahh.. did they give you any other guidelines? Sounds like they're going to be kinda strict. Honestly, I'd probably start looking at instrumentals of more modern songs or chat with the girls on the Christian board as maybe they can suggest more modern songs that the Church would approve of!

PERSONALLY, I love instrumentals of modern songs. Our bridal party is walking down to an instrumental version of "I'll be" - Edwin McCain (sad but true, that was inspired by the Hilary Duff Cinderella movie) and we are doing our recessional to Coldplay's Viva La Vida.

We had also considered an instrumental to "Beautiful Day" - U2 and "Somewhere over the rainbow."

Thanks Faith that is a great idea!! Phisigfly I wanted instrumental versions of certain songs which I was positive they would be ok and i got a no. We wanted Elvis Presely Fools Rush in since I am a fan of Elvis and From this moment from Shania Twain and got turned down.

You can never go wrong with BeBe and CeCe Winnans!!!!! They have quite a few upbeat songs and are definitely not secular!!!! I need you now by Smokie Norful is also an AWESOME song that would be suitable! Not sure if you are familiar with these artists, but give it some thought. HTH

Sorry ladies. I notice that i forgot to add on the non to non-secular. I did it over at the Christian board as well. Thank you for all suggestions. I am sorry I am pulling 10 hour shifts at my job with out a break.

I don't have any suggestions as I had a similar problem, but I will be watching if there are any other suggestions. Or let me know what you come up with!
