  Hello everyone I am new to the board. I am looking for a Los Angeles based wedding photographer. I am getting married June 4, 2011 in Pasadena. My budget for photography is only $1,500. However, EVERY photographer I like starts at $2k-$4k. Does anyone have any recommendation? Thank you!!

  u need to check with your local board. this board is national so we won't be able to help u with that really...

  i'm a central FL bride and also getting  married june 4, 2011 so I can't help in locating someone in LA but I feel your pain of trying to find a photographer for around or under $1500. Good luck and welcome to the board

  Hi!  I'm from Orange County and had a great photographer in mind...but realized I booked him for my wedding on June 4th!  Haha...but I do think looking on here as well as the L.A. board is a good start!  Good luck with the photographer hunt!!!

  See PPs, check your local board...we are everywhere and would not necessarily be familiar with photographers in your area

  I am using Austin O'Brien at aobrienphotography.com for the wedding.  I used my friend Bea Lamar www.studiostremy.com for my engagement photos.    They're in your price range.

  Aileen Secord did ours and she was amazing.  It was around $1200 for 8 hours.  Not sure what her prices are now but you should check her out. www.aileensecord.com

  I picked Aaron Levi Photography, you might take a look. I know he has done weddings all over southern california and the portfolio we saw was amazing.

  I used Felicia Perry Photography for my engagement photos and plan to use her for my wedding photos in March
  she's absolutely great! I'm in love with my engagement photos and can't wait to see what my wedding photos are going to turn out to be!

  Don't get intimidated by the prices he has listed on the website. Just contact him and see what you can get for $1500. (A friend of a friend suggested I give him a call, otherwise I would have glossed right over him because of his high prices).  He's a documentary and travel photographer by trade, but he is so warm and welcoming and a joy to work with. Amazing photos!  He actually mentioned that he can be very flexible with brides and their budgets. Just give him a call or shoot him an email and see what happens!  It's definitely a bonus for going with an independent, not a big studio.  Good luck!
