My Save the Dates.... your opinions?

I did some STD and wedding website work this weekend, and have already ordered the STDs, then after reviewing other forums/posts, am wondering if I did ok? We haven't done engagement photos and I wanted something simple, I just hope doing it postcard style isn't too informal!  It is more worth it to me to spend the money on our invitations.  I ordered this as a postcard STD:

The STDs probably will not match our invitations, which have not yet been selected, and I don't have my colors selected either although I'm leaning towards some combination of mainly yellow or orange with some light green and white accents.  Although it looks like this design is available for postage as well, so that could be a tie-in.

Although I love the look of the whole matching set when it comes to all the paper products, I don't think I'm going to get around to that whole unified theme look... is that ok?

Those are awesome!  I was going to send out postcards like that for save the dates and then went with a save the date magnet the size of large note cards since I got a vista print voucher.  In my opinion you don't have to match the all your paper goods.  I think it if has an over all theme tying it together then you're golden.   My save the dates and the invitations are not matching but I wanted to go with the whole traveling theme.

Love them! They are very cute! I wouldn't change them. I think that's part of the charm of desintation weddings is that you can make the stuff that goes along with them fun and not too formal.

My save the dates and invites will not match. I did business card size magents from the weddingchannel store that had 2 palm trees on them because they were simple and cheap. I just wanted something to remind people when it was so they would stop asking. Tongue out  Ha ha! My boarding pass invites will have palm trees on them as well but not look the same.

That's such a fun postcard. I'm actually thinking of buying a bunch of those for a guest book alternative or for OOT bags! The one you chose will get everyone hyped up for your upcoming wedding and for a destination wedding!

Our save the dates were totally different from our invites. So I don't think it has to match. I wanted a more refined style for the invite so a fun save the date was a good choice for us.

OK, thanks for the positive feedback, I 'm feeling more confident about this.  I was starting to feel cheap & unorganized after seeing some of the beautiful paper collections from the other brides!

Those are so cute & fun!  Our STDs and invites definitely did not match.  We did a photo postcard for our STD and letterpressed the formal invite.  We did a yellow wedding with some white and light gray accents.  YAY yellow weddings!

Love them. Very cute. I may use something like this for our Welcome Bags. Ours will not match any part of our wedding with the exception of the shells that were included.

I LOVE these! We did postcard save the dates from zazzle as well but we put a photo of the proposal on front...definitely don't match our invitations. I might have to steal these for something...just not sure what yet Tongue out

I wanted a unified theme, but didn't end up going that route b/c my STDs were sent out looong before I finally decided in my invitations.  I don't think anyone receiving these even notices anything other than "Cute!" or maybe "That's weird."  That's about all that makes an impression, so go with whatever design YOU like, and you'll be fine.

As for whether I like it, I'm a HUGE fan of the retro Hawaiian look (we went with a STD with that feel, as well).  I particularly like that look in a postcard STD for a destination wedding because it's so fun and inviting looking.  If you'd like, you can see what our STDs (also purchased on zazzle) looked like in my bio under Paper Goods, as well as what we ended up doing for invitations (DIY).

Those are super cute.  We just e-mailed out the wedding website info for STD's so you're already way ahead of us!!

Ditto everyone else...if you love them then go for it!   Our invites won't match our STDs either, other than maybe we'll use the same colours.
