  But Will and Kate are having a black tie event, so I guess it works for them.

  yah.......wayyy boring. And did you notice that her name is "C"atherine....but she goes by "K"ate ? ......kinda weird.

  I guess I'm in the minority. I find their wedding invitation pretty elegant and high class. It'll withstand time and fads. It's gilded, bevelled, and pressed in gold. I like it for its simple elegance.
  
  There's also two other events that less and less people are invited to. 1900 to the wedding, 300 to the Queen's reception, and 150 to Prince Charles' reception. The latter two invitations are private and won't be shared with the press (at least not by them.)
