Parent Gift Ideas

Anyone have or seen good ideas for parent gifts for the wedding???  I appreciate any suggestions! Thanks in advance!

I was actually JUST thinking about this....haha

Anyways, I'm thinking about getting my parents a nice coffee maker and some good coffee.  I know I could get them something more extravagant, but my parents LOVE coffee.   They drink several glasses a day, and they ALWAYS make coffee when entertaining.  I think it's going to be something they will use very often and really appreciate.  They have had the same coffee maker since I was in high school, and they hate spending money on things like that for themselves.

Is there something that your parents really love but maybe it needs an upgrade?  Or something they want, but don't want to buy for themselves?  For example, are they big wine drinkers?  Maybe a wine fridge would be a nice gift.  I think if you start to think about that, you'll probably find your answer!

P.S. Sorry for the huge siggy pic...I'm still playing with pics to get them smaller, grrr.

Yup!  It's the ballroom where most receptions are held. I love it!

We got our parents a weekend trip to Door County after the wedding.  We got them a two night stay plus a gift certificate to a restuarant.  The hotel rates really weren't bad since it was off-season and both parents liked having some else to look forward to after the wedding.

Debbie:  thats where we are getting married and having the reception :-)  Did you get married in the auditorium or just have the reception there?  Did you love it?

Really?!?  In Madison right? That's crazy!   I didn't want to take up your post with talk about the Center, but I guess it's not a big deal since you are getting married there too!  My wedding is 1/8/2011, when is yours? Are you doing your ceremony in the auditorium as well?

Since we paid for our own wedding we tried to keep the bridal party and the parent gifts affordable.  We gave our parents empty frames at the rehearsal and after the wedding they chose the 11x14 they wanted to go in it and we gave them the 11x14 and also a copy of our hi res printable DVD so that they could print anything they wanted.  We gave all of our bridal party members gift cards for their favorite stores.

I think I'm going to take my grandparents and my aunt to the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre to see A Christmas Carol and also take them out to dinner at Mader's (an authentic German restaurant, that's pretty pricey, but absolutely amazing!). It'll cost a lot, but they're saving us a lot of money and helping us out so much with the wedding.

I used to work with (or maybe for him kind of) at WVA when I was in high school!  It's crazy how random life can be :)
