So this might be long, but here's my recap. It is the same one on FB so you don't read it twice!
Our rehearsal went really well on Friday night and our officiant already had my parents and me in tears the way she did the wording for our wine box ceremony (I am getting a copy of her script because it was so beautiful.) We had dinner and did our gifts which our bridal party loved. After that the boys went to buffalo wild wings to continue their party and my MIL got drunk since on of the GM was buying shots. The girls came back to my house and we had a great time just laughing and they calmed my nerves greatly. I did get to see the room almost all set up and there was only one issue that our chair cover person changed out our sweetheart table set up because she didn't like it, but I called her and asked her to change it back and she did with no problem. I slept like a rock that night which I really didn't expect to do, but I'm happy I did.
The next day I woke up bright and early ate breakfast and we all went to the hair salon and the girl who did my hair did amazing work as always. Our first look spot was actually right across the street from my salon so we went over there and took pictures with the pretty flowers. We went back to my house and ate (surprisingly I wasn't really nervous) and I ate a lot lol. One tip I do have for you ladies who aren't married yet is have pepto or something like it on hand since even though I didn't feel nervous, my tummy was not having a good day up to that point. My girls had to go take care of something at our venue so while I got my make up done they ran and did that for me (my girls are awesome.) Last minute I realized I should invite my MIL to watch me put my dress on since she only has 2 sons and we don't think H's brother will ever get married. Our photographer got to my house a little early so he did pictures of my shoes, jewelry and the rings. Once my girls got into their dresses I got into mine and I think my photographer got really good bridal shots. On the way to the first look, I was getting a little irrationally nervous, but it went perfectly. Our photographer was amazing and had everyone laughing through all the pictures.
We got back to our venue and I was put into hiding, but right before the ceremony I went into our banquet room and the windows were tinted so no one could see in so I could look out at all the people at our wedding and one of our catering people came to talk to me to see if I needed anything (like a shot or something) and she calmed my nerves a little bit. Our photographer actually snuck up behind me and got pictures of me looking out.
I had both of my parents walk me down the aisle which I'm so glad I did since I knew it was so special to my mom. My sister (MOH) was bawling before I even got down the aisle so looking at her made me tear up. My dad forgot to give me away, like the hug, so that was an awkward moment but it made everyone chuckle. Then our officiant forgot to give the cue for everyone to sit down so our nerves were all at ease at that point. We wrote our own vows and I had to pause or I was going to ugly cry, and I was told afterwards that my vows made everyone cry, even the groomsmen which I was really surprised at. H got a little emotional during his vows, but they were so heartfelt and I can tell that he put so much effort into them.
The reception was definitely a party. No one had told us how to cut the cake so there is a really funny picture of our photographer giving us a crash course in how to cut the cake. Everyone was dancing all night and it didn't hurt that it was an open bar, but it was definitely a blast and the reception hall was my vision come to life which was the coolest thing ever. We were so exhausted by the end of the day, but it was so worth it in the end.
I will post one of my favorite non pro pics when I post this, but feel free to stalk my page because people are starting to get their pictures up on FB. I did find out that our GM made a twitter page for our wedding which is hilarious and if anyone wants me to post that link, let me know.
