I'm looking at rings (bf previously told me that I ruined fantasy proposal because I never took the trip with him to the place he wanted to propose lol)....told bf I'm looking and he said "that's good!  figure out what you like!"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm jumping up and down inside (but externally I am seated, because I am at work - slow day).

    That's exciting! Perhaps he'd want to go look with you?  For me, it's been a really fun process watching him pick out rings he wants me to try on, and discussing what we like/don't like about each one.  It's a joint process, but he now knows what I like and am sure will get me an amazing ring (even if it's a totally different one than the ones we've looked at).

    For your own sanity, please relax. My FI told me to go get an idea of what kind of ring I liked....and then didn't propose for a full year.

    Holy exclamation point overload, Batman!

    I know you're excited but one or two !!'s will suffice!  

    Anywho, glad that you and BF are talking about rings and he wants you to show him what you like.  Just know that he might not get you the exact ring you "fall in love with" so try to go more for a general idea of the style you like or a certain stone shape .  Also, just because he's interested in your opinion on a ring doesn't mean he's buying it right away or even proposing right after he does buy a ring... some girls wait a long time (many months to well over a year) to get the ring.

    I'm just excited is all.  He's a really awesome guy, I love him to death and I'm excited to merge our worlds.  I know it's not going to be for awhile but a girl can daydream lol...this is really the only place I can be excited about it!  Every time he catches me doing something like ring browsing he goes "cute!".  He said he would think it weird if I wasn't excited....discussed w/ him over lunch today and we're on the same page :-).

    I am just excited about the possibility of it happening....I'll give it a rest and go relax now :-)  Thank you for all the support!

    I can understand being really excited about it and needing someplace to express that.

    And I'm glad to hear that the two of you were able to discuss things and be on the same page about it - I always like hearing when two people have good communication within their relationship.

    All that being said just relax and let things happen as they may

    Ditto chilling out though. Like Oceana and Buttons, my FI and I did the ring thing 1.5 years before he proposed. Have fun though and feel free to stick around.

    Maybe it's because it's sunny up here in the MSP area today - that does crazy things to us apparently, since its been raining everyday since like April 1.

    Well, my BF told me to pick out "what I liked" and then bought a ring the next day (Proposal pending). So it could happen any time within a week or two years. =D

    Find out if he wants you to pick out what you like, or a ring you like. Josh wanted me to find out what I like, but not a particular ring. (He wanted to do the whole surprise-ring thing, which is fine by me.) I went to the jewelry store that I wanted my ring to come from, looked through the styles, and then picked five or six "example" rings- rings I liked a lot, so he could pick any of them, or just use them as guidelines to pick a ring on his own. He went in the next day, looked over all the rings, and then bought one.

    It is very exciting to hear that! I went out the next day and spent an hour trying on rings. Just have fun, but like others said- it could still be a while. But you can have fun in the meantime!

    And it's about saving BOOBIES.
