Got FI's cousin's STD today....

Yup, the one who's getting married the same day as us. I'm still kind of irked by the situation, but I keep thinking to myself, "5 less jerks at our wedding".

Needless to say, theirs are very nice- complete with a color coordinated envelope and a custom envelope seal. More than likely, they spent a good chunk of change on them since they included an extra card with hotel block info, that card and the STD itself had printing on both sides.

    That's what I thought too, but then remembered that her family happens to be in AZ and their wedding will be here in MN :-P 

    We won't be sending ours til October since we won't have many OOT guests.

    Thankfully, only his grandma's truly affected. We've heard that she's intending on attending both ceremonies, and logistically it would work since our venues are 20 minutes apart and our ceremony will be starting an hour after theirs.<div>

    I still feel so bad that they did that too you when they knew your date before hand. But as you said 5 less jerks. I do hope that it all turns out perfect and that the grandma is able to attend both.

    I find it super early to send out the STD :) I dont knkow of any airlines that you can book more then 8mths out

    I think you should be a model on how to correctly handle people who put their wedding dates near other family members'.  Some people don't handle that well, but you're being really mature and classy about it.  Also that's really super early for STDs.  I'm glad their date choice doesn't really affect your guest list though.  That's always a good thing!

    Yeah, I don't know how early you can book a plane ticket TBH. But I know that you can't book a hotel room more than a year in advance usually. At least when we were originally looking at hotels for blocks, my mom was wanting to reserve a specific room and their system wouldn't allow it.

    ugh, annoying.
    my cousin is getting married on july13,.... P and I've anniversary, and the first date we met in person after having a long-distance friendship (TX to afghanistan) for 8 months. I was annoyed b/c she just pulled a date out of her rear and now b/c of that, i'm screwed on using my actual anniversary.
    So we chose May 18 b/c it's the day P got wounded and came home... make something good to remember out of the day :) But when I got her "reminder" email about her wedding date, I was irked. lol
