Wedding Party

Bridesmaids' luncheon ideas

Hi guys!  My wedding is fast approaching and bills are of course adding up.  My bridesmaids went over the top on my bridal shower and bachelorette party so I'd love to do a luncheon/early dinner for them as a "Thank you" (in addition to wedding party gifts) prior to the wedding day.  Does anyone have any good, inexpensive ideas for this?  My friends really enjoy theme type parties so I was thinking along those lines.  Thanks for your help!!

  • I would need more information.  I don't know them or what they like, so any advice I give might be way off the mark.

I could throw out some generic ones: beach theme, nature theme, super fancy, picnic, etc. but you could have come up with those.

A word of warning from your friends at Cracked.com: Remember that text is going to be how you make your first impression over the internet; if every third word you type is misspelled, people will automatically assume that you're a moron.
  • The idea of a picnic would be good, if there's a nice park or beach near you. You can pack everyone's lunch in an individual paper bag. Nice sandwiches, brownies, some kind of salad or pasta salad, lemonade. I know Barefoot Contessa did an episode like this once, if you can find it.

Can you host people at your house? You could do a fiesta theme with a make-your-own taco or quesadilla spread, homemade guacamole and salsa. Do an Italian theme with pasta, garlic bread, tiramisu. Do a fancy tea and serve finger sandwiches, scones, petit fours, little cakes, and maybe see if you can find little individual teapots at thrift shops.

If you can't host people at your house, you could go to a pizza parlor or a Chinese buffet.

  • Last year I hosted an Un-Birthday party for my girls and we had a blast!
I had prizes, games, cupcakes, loot bags, finger foods, streamers and birthday hats.

This summer I'm going to host a mexican fiesta with a pinata, guacamole, margaritas, salsa dancing :)

I was going to host a tea party but none of my friends drink tea :(
